The Shilla Jeju

"Rooms are definitely outdated, beautiful outdoor property with a paved walkway to the beach. Amenities of towels and water was appreciated. Pool use is confusing. Free to use the pools, BUT at the adult pool, all the loungers are paid. So you can put your stuff at a table and swim, but nowhere to put your things or relax. Also an odd thing, we were the only ones in the pool and still they were strict with this system. The family pool whole has free loungers , MUST be booked/reserved still for 2 hour timeslots. Those do not have umbrellas, they have heaters. The pool is heated which is nice and connects to the indoor pool which has free FCFS loungers but this is still a perplexing and odd system/arrangement. We went in October where school has started and it's a little colder and there was no one swimming, which was nice for us, but the loungers situation is odd. The food is also odd. All food on the property isn't the best tasting, but the pricing is SUPER expensive. The proportions are also typically MASSIVE for some dishes, while not for others so often we unfortunately had to throw away significant amounts of food as one dish was good enough for 2, but it's unclear on the menu that is the case."

"Gorgeous hotel, on the ocean and the view was stunning. The infinity pool was heated and the hot tubs were soothing. Very clean, staff everywhere was very polite, helpful and respectful. Beds were comfortable and rooms were spacious. Would stay there again anytime"

"The grounds are beautiful. The pool and entertainment area was awesome although we didn’t use them as much as we’d like. The breakfast brunch was the best buffet I’ve had in Korea. The choices were varied and delicious. I really enjoyed my stay at this beautiful property"

"Lovely hotel. Good variety of food for buffet breakfast both western and eastern food. Limited food options in the lounge for vegetarians. The spa was closed. Apparently closed for all of 2026, which wasn’t clear at the time of booking. Fantastic location for botanic gardens and the waterfalls."

"Wife and I really liked the place. I had probably the best shower all year there, plenty of hot water. Clean room and bedding. The terrace was nice as we faced the ocean and were woken up by the sunrise blinding our faces each morning. They have a small convenience store for any extras you may need. I think the only thing lacking realistically in the room was a microwave. Convenient to the beach and big market and all sorts of cafes/restaurants. I would stay again if in the area. Some of the staff speak English, too. Make sure you opt for parking so that you don’t pay an extra fee if available."
