Pioneer Square

Seattle

A street scene with a covered walkway, historic buildings, and pedestrians.
A building with a brick facade covered in green ivy, a black arched entrance, and signs for a bakery and cafe.
A covered pedestrian walkway with ornate metalwork, a Starbucks Coffee shop, and a fire hydrant on the sidewalk.
A clock with 'Ben Bridge' and 'The Diamond People' written on it.
A building covered in green ivy with a sign reading "GRAND CENTRAL BAKERY". There are red umbrellas and people sitting at tables outside.
Love history? Head for Pioneer Square, the oldest neighbourhood in Seattle.

Pioneer Square was established in 1852, though we must say it’s held its age well. Brick buildings never really go out of style, and these days they house all sorts of galleries, shops and cafes. See important aspects of the city’s storied past by walking along the Trail to Treasure, then feel free to gape a bit at a waterfall in the middle of the city. Yes, a real waterfall—albeit manmade—takes centre stage at Waterfall Garden Park, and yes, you definitely want to get a picture with it.
