"Ww wanted an authentic castle stay and that's exactly what it is. Staff were wonderful, bar and restaurant were superb. Castle steeped in history and very comfortable with plenty of lounge areas. Room was spacious and comfortable and we couldn't have enjoyed our stay any.more!"

"Staff were lovely at reception, very helpful & pleasant. I do enjoy a smiling welcome. Also bar staff were great too. Bed was super-comfy. Good size room & shower room. Downside was having no fridge in the room for a hot July weekend & that the toilet seat was stained with what I assume to be fake tan. Pool was great too. Already booked to stay again next month."

"The hotel’s central location made it very convenient and provided easy access to the city. Our room was much more spacious than the photos suggested, which was a pleasant surprise. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay, from the reception team to the housekeeping staff and the breakfast team. The only improvement I would suggest is having a designated pick-up and drop-off area directly outside the hotel entrance. As we were travelling with a lot of luggage and our dog, this would have made our arrival and departure much easier."

"Everything else was excellent, but we were initially given a room where the air conditioning wasn't working during the heatwave. They obviously knew that when I reported the issue. I was told the hotel was fully booked and that we couldn't change rooms. Instead, they sent two fans to our room. As the windows couldn't be opened, the room was unbearably hot, and there was no way we could stay there. I went back downstairs and explained that if they couldn't move us to another room, we would have to leave. Thankfully, they used their magic wond and found us another room. The hotel is central . Next to the train station. The pool was very nice. Thank you."

"I visit Newcastle about four times per year and frankly wouldn't stay anywhere else. From the moment you walk off the Station concourse, through the beautiful revolving door, you're made to feel welcome. Check in staff will always accommodate early arrivals, if available, but they do have secure luggage storage. The convenience to the city and the amenities are self evident, but the staff are the jewel in the Royal crown. Beyond exception they are friendly and efficient. Special mention for Michael, who is a fixture, serving at breakfast (incredible quality, buffet style) and later at the bar, always convivial. Five stars, every time."
