"Our stay at Torel Palace Porto was absolutely amazing and truly one of the highlights of our trip. We stayed for three nights when we first arrived in Porto, traveled around Portugal, and then returned for our final night — and coming back felt like returning to somewhere special. The hotel itself is stunning, with beautiful design, a great atmosphere, and an excellent location for exploring the city. Everything feels thoughtfully curated, and the overall experience is both luxurious and welcoming. What really sets this hotel apart is the staff. Every single person we interacted with was incredibly helpful, warm, and attentive. They went above and beyond for us — in particular, when I needed to change the timing of my car rental pickup, they handled everything seamlessly, which made a huge difference and took all the stress away. When we returned for our final night, we were welcomed back with complimentary sparkling wine and a personalized “welcome back” note, which was such a thoughtful and memorable touch. It really showed how much they care about their guests and the overall experience they provide. Overall, this is an exceptional hotel with outstanding service. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Porto. "

"It was very hot and we weren't able to operate the air conditioner and bathroom door didn't close. We had advised reception but no one came and had to reach out again later in the evening as the room was unbearably warm. The hotel is old which was to be expected and the cleanliness was ok. The room is cleaned every other day so not sure how this is a 4 star hotel. There were alot of little flies and moths flying inside the room. Also, one of the pillows was dirty and didn't look like the case was cleaned. We tried to change hotels after the first day but would not allow us to. We paid alot of money for this room and expected much more. Was offered another room but was on the main floor and was a downgrade. We stayed in a 3 star in Lisbon and paid much less and received much better customer service. "
