"Friendly staff, warm and welcoming bar area with wood burner where we ate a good dinner. Hamper breakfast very adequate. All in all, very good value for money. Very comfortable bedroom with large modern bathroom."

"The staff were very friendly and helpful, the receptionist had booked guests in a million times and was very efficient. The young waitress who served me was originally from Kent and l recognised her accent from coming from where l used to live. My room 101 was a nice location, full view of the Scotch Corner roundabout and could see the snow and when it was clear so l could get on my way to continue my journey to Scotland. It really is in a fantastic location. Breakfast was good the chef made the best porridge in the North East so he tells me. "

"Had a lovely stay here. Welcoming staff on arrival, clean , comfy and spacious rooms, a better than expected gym, and nice food. The rooms were cosy and had everything required, free toiletries in the bathroom which was a nice touch. The gym was great considering it was a hotel gym, lots of equipment and free weights. Didn’t use the spa but looked more than good enough and clean. Ate here for breakfast and evening meal. Wasn't a massive menu but a good selection and was enjoyable. A little longer wait between courses than preferred but was quite busy. A special mention to Wendy on reception. Very welcoming, informative and above all a lovely lady. "

"I've stayed here many times, it is a charming village pub with great staff and good food. The rooms are clean and spacious. The local area is amazing, a must see is the White Horse carved into the hillside. "
