"Overall clean, comfortable and great location. Wasn’t advised before arrival that evening meals are no longer served however you can dine at the sister hotel with a 10% discount. Also after standing in a queue at reception (for a drink from the bar) for around 10mins getting to the front and told by the receptionist that she couldn’t serve me, she was the only one working and had to see to those checking in first and asked me to come back later!!!!!!"

"From check in right through to check out the staff were excellent. Fonbas Suite was lovely and comfortable with views to dream of. Sitting room upstairs was very well stocked for coffee, tea and hot chocolate. Milk and bottled water also supplied. Bedroom was very comfortable and a good size. Breakfast was buffet style but had a plentiful supply of hot foods. Bar was busy and entertainment on the friday night. The hotel has had a lot of cosmetic decor changes too. As always we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. A place to relax and enoy yorself in lovely surroundings. The gardens are beautifully maintained."

"Lovely clean rooms and bar area. Staff were friendly and helpful. Close to local amenities , with lots of nice eating and drinking places to hand. Had a great room with view of river and castle which was a pleasant upgrade. Will definitely be back and would highly recommend."

"Our seaview room was lovely. Everything really clean, decor very nice. Bed was comfy, great shower. Breakfast tasty. Only one gripe...we weren't told by either Expedia or the hotel that our booking included access to the Spa, so we didn't take anything suitable to wear for the sauna/steam room, so we were a bit disappointed with that, but everthing else was great, would definitely stay here again."

"We couldn’t stay. Caked on feces in the toilet, very stained mattress with what appeared to be dried urine and dried blood. Hotel was fully booked so no other room was open. We had to find another hotel at 8 pm. Terrible experience"
