"Our air conditioner didn't work, so I wouldn't recommend this place for summer. We opened the window but that just lets in mosquitoes. That said, this is a great value place to stay in Florence that's central, with very friendly staff, clean beds and rooms. Sound-proof windows, too. It didn't block out the screaming teenagers, but that's not the hotel's fault. Just rowdy kids. We'd stay again, for sure. "

"Small rooms"

"We stayed at Il Malaspina for 6 days this April and everything about the hotel was perfect! We got there early on check in day and they held our luggage while we went out to lunch. When we returned not only was our room ready, but our luggage was already in the room waiting for us. Housekeeping cleaned the room daily and left it immaculate. The first night our room was a little warm for me and I couldn’t figure out how to get it cooler. Went to the front desk the next day and they are able to control each rooms temperature, so the rest of our stay the room temp was just right. Now the breakfast, omg the breakfast! A huge variety and so so good. You feel like you are at an upscale restaurant and there is such a good variety we didn't get tired of it even after a week. In fact, I am really missing the pistachio croissants now that we are home! Hot eggs, bacon, sausage every day, plus a wide variety of cold meats and cheeses. Yogurt, tons of pastries, toast with many toppings, and probably many things I’m forgetting. Plus a variety of juices and a very fancy self service coffee machine that can make about 8 different drinks. The hotel is in walking distance to every thing in Florence, longest walk was about 40 min to Piazzele Michaelangelo but so worth it, don’t miss sunset there when visiting! Very convenient to SM Novella train station for traveling outside of Florence, but far enough it feels extremely safe at all times of day and night. Cannot recommend Il Malaspina enough!"

"Centrally located hotel - everything is within a 20-minute walk. The rooms are clean and modern, but what sets this place apart is the staff. The front desk team, especially Leiann and Nick are incredibly kind and helpful. The breakfast staff are also outstanding! They went above and beyond to make sure we have what we needed - and they make excellent cappuccino. I would recommend this place to family and friends, and will return here."
