"The staff was very welcoming and the property was very clean. The hotel is located near a Robinson’s Mall, which was great because we were able to take a tricycle to get some dinner. "

"We spent 2 nights here and the staff were wonderful. There is a really pleasant garden with a pool and a basic restaurant with bar service. The room was spotless with aircon, TV and a place to hang clothes to dry. Cats, dogs and chickens roamed free-range in the spacious gardens. "
"I loved being right on the beach. It is pretty far from downtown Puerto Princesa, so you have to take a trike into town, but the pool and beach are lovely. "

"Gorgeous, immaculate property and pool in an idyllic setting. But it is the incredibly warm, smiling, welcoming, friendly and attentive staff that especially makes Funny Lion Puerto Princesa stand out. Every single member of their seemingly small army of staff who I interactacted with was kind, genuine and professional.
The service and attention to detail at this hotell is unparalleled! Everything, no matter how big or small, from drinks to food is presented in beautiful and perfect fashion.

"The staff were absolutely brilliant showing true hospitality on my stay even with me being sick in my room they checked in on me and made sure to drop my breakfast up to me each day to make sure I was comfortable. Only thing I will say for constructive criticism is about the beds is the duvet (or lack of) was very light not providing much cover/insulation at night from the A/C. Other than that I would very much recommend especially with the included transportation to and from the airport. Great value."

"The hotel was great. The restaurant was not so great my first was smoked pork ribs the flavor was good but very dry. The second meal I ordered a Caesar salad didn’t come with a Caesar dressing but an oil base dressing. The third meal I ordered was a four cheese pizza I think it was 90% mozzarella cheese and 10% the other 3 cheeses. I would recommend the hotel the restaurant not so much."

"A Hidden Gem of Tranquility and Charm!
Carpe Diem Villa and Resort is a true oasis in Puerto Princesa! From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the peaceful, Balinese-inspired atmosphere, surrounded by lush greenery and elegant sculptures. The rooms are spotless, beautifully designed, and well-equipped — we especially loved the private pool access, which made the stay feel extra luxurious.
The staff were warm, welcoming, and incredibly helpful. They went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable, even helping us plan local tours and arranging transport when needed. The main pool area is stunning and well-maintained — perfect for lounging with a drink from the poolside bar.
Dining at their restaurant was a delightful surprise. The fusion of French and Filipino flavors made for a unique and satisfying experience, though we would have appreciated a bit more variety in the breakfast options.
While the resort is tucked away from the main town, it’s a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle. Just be prepared to arrange transportation if you plan to explore more of the city.
Overall, Carpe Diem is the perfect mix of comfort, relaxation, and attentive service. We’re already planning our next visit!
