One week in beautiful las Galeras

Lovely vacation in las Galeras hotel. Everything went smoothly from day one when we arrived very late in the evening. Staff is very nice and helpful, some of them speak english as well. Breakfast is basic, but tasty. Hotel is clean, rooms are big and it’s very queit during the night time (also air conditioner is quiet - we slept very well). Only minus was the bed, wasn’t that comfortable, and no bottle water included in the room service.

Great option in a quiet corner of the DR

The hosts were kind, location is close to everything, the rooms were spacious. Breakfast every morning and kind of right at the heart of this laid-back town. This is very Independant and doesn’t have every convenience and add on of a resort or full hotel, but the family is nice and welcoming. One bummer when we were in town - they could not process a credit card for the rooms payment and the only ATM in town only allowed 10,000 peso withdrawals so it was a hassle getting together enough cash to pay.

El hotel estaba pintado y el olor a pintura estaba muy fuerte aparte de eso al parecer el hotel renta el área de piscina para el público de fuera y el día que legamos no pudimos usar la piscina porque había una actividad de fuera otra cosa deberían haber mejor el servicio de limpieza es malo

El hotel tiene muy buena ubicación, puedes salir caminando a la playa y los restaurantes. La señora johanna tiene muy buenas atenciones con los huéspedes, el desayuno es aceptable, el hotel es limpio, y se puede usar la alberca a cualquier hora del dia o de la noche.

Las Galeras in Las Galeras

Built and owned by same husband and wife for many years. Have been here twice before. Very comfortable, clean, great a/c, simple pool. Located in center of town, able to walk everywhere. Very nice people, reasonable pricing. Excellent breakfast. Easy parking, do bring mosquito spray. One caution as in every hotel in DR, don't come on weekends. The dear Dominican culture, more than explodes and implodes on weekends. Noise, chaos, crowding, disarray for everything. I live here 20 years, but at times, even I forget how bad it gets. Come sunday afternoon and leave Friday afternoon. But Las Galeras Hotel and the owners are really good people and a perfect place to stay in town. They are building another one in Punta Rucia, will wait for opening and plan to stay there.

Property is very well kept, staff and Manager are very nice. Beach is not on-site but within a reasonable walking distance. Would have been nice to have a small fridge in the room but there was a common refrigerator at the bottom entrance of the unit. Nice and relaxing.
