"They have pictures of nice and clean beautiful rooms in the website but this is not true. The room smelled and it had little bugs in the bathroom and kitchen. The bathroom has mold and it was very warm. The towels had stains. I would not recommend this unless your on a very low budget. "

"Our second visit to Apparteo Bordeaux and equally enjoyable! The room on the top floor was spacious, clean, well equipped and comfortable with a great terrace for outdoor dining - very relaxing and appreciated as it was 30C+. A lot of renovation of the surrounding area makes for a very pleasant stay with loads of waterside restaurants, the lovely Halles de Bacalan and, of course the Cite du Vin. Can recommend taking the No. 4 bus from directly across the road to the Château de Pape Clemente...

"After difficulty finding and getting to the barge. (I’d recommend contacting owners - you often need a code for locked gates to get quai side - they don’t give you this information so you need to request it) we found the setting beautiful. Loved the decor in the Art Deco room of the Barge. The hosts provide everything needed, even putting milk, butter and orange juice in the fridge on arrival which was a nice touch. "The property was ideal for us as a young family. Comfortable, great location and facilities within the apartment. Once we were contacted by the concierge the communication was great but initially there were a few challenges getting hold of property and confirming cot bed & deposit. "First of all it should be pointed out that the flat is in a senior citizens home. Slightly strange but unless you keep very strange hours then it's not a problem. The building is quiet and the parking is covered by CCTV. I|t's close to one of the major roads out of the city so if you have a car it's not a problem. Apartment is lovely and airy (no aircon). "Good location for exploring the city (on the edge of the historic district so it has the benefit of AC). Good sized rooms (for a European city) with adequate amenities and good bistro. Breakfast good (though crowded on Sunday peak times). Staff very helpful."

"Badon Boutique is an excellent place to stay in St Emilion, Staff were so helpful, Parking is a real problem in this very popular tourist town but there is spacious parking albeit having to navigate beforehand through the narrow cobbled streets.There are wine shops all around you, including their own. Fabulous restaurants just meters away, including the outstanding L’Huterie Pie, just across the street. If you want to stay in St Emilion ( and you do to stroll the lanes after the tour buses have gone, stay here!!"

"This is a very special hotel. The staff went above and beyond, the restaurant was fabulous, our room was beautiful and the grounds are spectacular, surrounded by vineyards. There is a pond with ducks and two beautiful swans who walk around the property. We arranged in advance for a picnic and had a lovely lunch on a blanket with an incredible view of the hotel, the vineyards, and of course, the swans. The pool, sauna and steam were also terrific. We rented a car in Bordeaux, and spent three nights at. Grand Barrail, exploring St. Emilion and only a few of the 800 wineries, dining at excellent restaurants recommended by the hotel. It is centrally located with easy access to the St. Emilion area. "
