DoubleTree by Hilton Cheltenham-Cotswolds

Cheltenham Chase Hotel & Spa
4/10 Poor
"Not really"

Gloucester Robinswood Hotel by Sunday
10/10 Excellent
"Staff were really friendly and helpful. Room was clean and cosy but a lot of mould on the inside window frame "

Hatherley Manor Hotel & Spa
6/10 Okay
"Spa was great, we really enjoyed our day there, facilities were modern and we easily spent a few hours there. The breakfast is the morning was awesome and the staff were all great. The room was pretty tired, there was water on one of the bedroom walls, mouldy bathroom etc. Not unclean, just clearly a bit tired. What tainted our stay was how overpriced the bar / restaurant was, we had dinner on the friday night just a main and a single drink each and it came to £80 for the 2 of us. The food quality was basic pub standard so didn't justify the price tag, I bought a pint of Coke the next day and it cost £4.85. So I would definitely recommend avoiding their restaurant and heading to a local pub! "

Royal Hotel Ross On Wye by Greene King Inns
10/10 Excellent
"Excellent clean room. Good breakfast and lovely friendly staff."

The Royal Lodge
10/10 Excellent
"Very happy overnight stay in a family room for a family of four. Very homely atmosphere, the hotel is an older building so a bit quirky but nothing to detract from being comfortable. Played table tennis and pool on the small & unbalanced table - all good fun for non-serious players. Food was good too."

Holiday Inn Gloucester-Cheltenham by IHG
8/10 Good
"Recently been to holiday inn found it good for my one night stay over there. Ample parking, good breakfast service. Overall enjoyed my stay. Thanks "

"Upon arrival just after 4pm, I was given Room 24 which was on the ground floor, directly adjacent to the dining area without soundproofing but an open doorway.
Also in the adjacent rooms were numerous foreign (migrant?) families with children running up and down the short corridor, and plenty of door knocking and chatting loudly in the corridor.
I complained to the reception staff (man instead of the young lady who checked me in), he apologised and moved me to another room on 2nd floor, plus gave a free drink voucher by way of apology, as it wasn’t the last room in the hotel. Odd it was given out in the first place.
The second room has aircon that won’t switch off, unless you remove the room key so all electrics go out. I read this in other reviews so knew about it in advance of booking.
In my second floor room, the sink was blocked and management must have known about it, as the sink plug (revolving disc) was missing. There was one in the ground floor room.
The beds themselves are super comfortable, probably one of the best I’ve ever slept on, although some people may find them a little too high up off the ground.
The surrounding area (over an Easter weekend) was a bit desolate. The road and surrounding land has much subsistence, with roadworks and single lane traffic lights which aren’t too much of an issue. There is a Subway but I never saw it open. There isn’t much else to look at, just a building site next to the hotel.
I wouldn’t stay there again."
