A great stay.

We highly recommend Residenza Gens Julia! We were greeted warmly by Ursulla, Davide and Lorenzo. The room was immaculate. Lorenzo gave a full tour of the hotel, amenities as well as recommendations for restaurants in Rome. The continental breakfast was nice. The location afforded easy access to a number of tourist spots. Additionally, the taxi stand was close by.

Soooo good, you have to try it too!

Prime location in the middle of Rome. A lovely room for a family of 3 with 2 bathrooms. The owner is super nice and extremely helpful. We're sure to return the next time we visit this wonderful city.

We had a wonderful stay! Great location central to everywhere we wanted to go. Urszula and her two sons Davide and Lorenzo were so hospitable! Highly recommend eating at Nannarella in Treviste which is one of their recommendations. It took us 15min to walk there! The hotel is located across the street from the ruins where Julius Caesar was assassinated. The hotel is very charming above the best little pizza place in Rome! What a great trip! Thanks Urszula!

Don't miss this gem

Everything from our greeting to our departure exceeded expectations. Urzsula is an amazing host who goes over the top to make sure everything is perfect for you, and will go out of her way to guarantee a pleasant stay. The room was large, immaculate, and very comfortable. I can't say enough about Residenza Gens Julia, and Urzsula. As an added benefit, the Five Temples ruins are across the street, transportation and shopping are ample, the Colosseum and other major sites are within a modest walking distance, and be sure to have some of the amazing pizza at Pizza right next door.

A beautiful premise in the best possible location

This residence is all about the location! The room was beautifully decorated with antique and even the roof is beautiful. It's easy to access, as buses and trams pass by the Torre Argentina area, but it means that the buses, trams, ambulances, cars etc are really passing by the place (remember to bring the earplugs, if you're a light sleeper). We got what we expected: the view to the historic venue and countless cats. And Urszula is the best hostess there is! She gives here everything to make you feel like being at home.

Warm Hosts Make Residenza Gens Julia a Top Pick

The building is older but location is excellent across from the Torre Argentina and within a kilometer of the Pantheon. The best feature was owners Ursula and Renato-- definitely the friendliest and warmest hosts among any we encountered on our multi-city two country tour of Italy and Greece. They made us feel instantly at home and welcomed us to take advantage of a fantastic breakfast, refrigerated drinks and coffee (available 24 hours) plus great restaurant recommendations. The three of us had a split room with two bathrooms allowing a great deal of privacy and spaciousness. It's not a five-star modern luxury building but we loved the classic character and the service we received. Highly recommended!

Not like other hotels in SO many good ways: - Greeted by Ursula like we were long lost family. - She brought in her son Lorenzo to check us in because he’s awesome. - This is a guest house, not a hotel. We had the full run of the fully stocked kitchen 24/7. - According to Lorenzo, whatever we wanted anytime was “OK”. And it was. Except that it was actually great. - Right outside our window was the ruins of the Area Sacra di Largo Argentina. Yes, the actual site of Julius Caesar’s murder. Right there. Right outside the window. Like other hotels in SO many good ways: - PERFECT location. Restaurants, shopping, history everywhere in every direction. - Clean room. - Great service. - Excellent prices. Huge value. We visited on foot in four days: Vatican City (including an actual papal mass in the square), the Colosseum, the Pantheon, the Spanish Steps, Trastevere, the Jewish Ghetto, Trevi Fountain, Castel Sant’Angelo and countless piazzas, churches, restaurants and shops.

My daughter and I loved staying here. It is not a hotel with 24 hour desk service so you will text when you are leaving the airport and they meet you at the door on arrival. Urzalas son met us and showed us everything and gave us the keys within 5 min if our arrival. The room was very spacious and clean with a good size bathroom. It was located right near a lot of sites. We walked a block to the bus station, about 10 min to Trevi Fountain and Pantheon. We walked to the Coloseum in about 12-15 min and saw great sites along the way. We ate pizza from right next door that was delicious and walked to several restaurants that were very good. Breakfast is small but fine for our needs. Coffee, breads, cakes, cereal, yogurt. Do not expect a full American breakfast. Go out and eat the local food. We would absolutely stay here again if we return.

The location of the place is excellent but the best part was the hostess, Ursula...she was truly amazing and went to great lengths to ensure that our stay was as comfortable as it could be..she went out of her way and took care of us as if we were her own and she even boiled eggs for me and ensured that I had enough water on me to endure the heat..really appreciated it
