Stairs and tiny rooms

There are about 40 stairs to get up to the hotel. Then we had another 10-15 to get to the room. Way too many for the oldest of our group. The room was super tiny, we could only walk one at a time from the bed to the bathroom. There was no space for our luggage, except under the bed. After one night we left due to the tiny room and all the stairs.

An absolute delight of a property! The hotel is so conveniently located and the staff are amazing. The room was small but functional and the stocked mini bar with all types of snacks and drinks was fantastic. I would not hesitate staying here again and highly recommend.

Great location! Central to all tourist attractions, easy to walk and also a cab station on the same block. Decor was kitschy and bed a little too firm, but the room and bathroom were spotless, and the staff were incredibly nice and helpful. I especially appreciated the foot bath and massage chair in our room after a long day of walking!

Great Place to Stay when in Rome

We stayed 4 days at Hotel Barrett. The hotel is very eccentric in a good way. We found the location to be very good and did not have trouble getting to various locations in Rome. One of the things that set this hotel apart from others is an adorable woman named Aneta who works at the front desk. She is a true asset to this property and whatever the hotel is paying her she deserves a raise. She really was so very helpful and and made our say there very memorable.

Hotel Barret is a very convenient hotel if you’re planning on staying most of the day outside, it has good air conditioning, good WiFi and the costumer service is truly good and always provides a great service. Taking into account the Hotel provides a self made breakfast, most of the times it ends up messing the room and ends up dirty; we weren’t expecting this concept of making our own breakfast in our room.

This was the best stay I have ever had. The hotel is in a perfect location, walkable to all sites in Rome, longest walk was about 31 minutes to the Vatican. The foot and body massager were a welcomed amenity after long days walking. The food available in the room daily was perfect for breakfast and snacking throughout the day, and it was restocked daily. The staff and everyone working here is so nice and helpful, they helped us with planning out what we should see. The bathrooms were very clean and was cleaned daily. We also got a nice cake on arrival and pasta on our leaving. I would 10/10 stay here again and would recommend this place to all my friends and family visiting Rome.

Really friendly staff! Good location, nice neighborhood, easy to reach many locations by foot. Bus stop just outside. Personally decorated room, very different from any other hotel, stuffed with decoration and gadgets. Quiet at night. No breakfast restaurant but very (!) generously filled fridge and a good coffee machine in the room. Even cans of tuna and olives and god knows what, more than enough to survive armageddon. And the angels on the walls will guard you. Nice place!

Avoid

This tired hotel is on the third floor ( walk up ) of an unprepocessing building on a busy street. The reception area is crammed with cheap and shabby reproductions of antique statues vases etc and plastic plants. The overall effect is uniquely depressing. Wether its the broken plastic shower cubicle or the threadbare towels its hard to convey how awful this hotel is.

Bizarre hotel with central location.

If you want a centrally located hotel with a bizarre interior, this is your place. My first complaint was that nowhere on there description does it say that the your need to walk up 4 flights of stairs to get into the hotel, so with 2 - bags over 50 lbs. and 2 other bags over over 30 lbs., you can see how stairs could be difficult. Once you get into what they call a lobby, all of the craziness starts and the rooms don't get any better. The pictures they show is just the beginning. And then you step into the bathroom that you feel your stepping into a capsule that send you into space and is so small where you can only raise 1 arm at a time to wash or you bang your arms/elbows into the walls.

Room is dirty and the small. Because of the environment, hazard of having mold, me, and my partner have severe allergy, and eye infection because of the bacteria. We’re trying to request a refund from the hotel but they refused. We should’ve request also reimburse our medical expenses. We end up going to see a pharmacist to get some medicine for the allergy and eyes

Wonderful location. Very convenient. Staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. Lots of stairs to lobby but hotel accommodated us with room on main floor. Shower is very tiny. If you are looking for a great hotel in a great location this is perfect. Loads of restaurants nearby. Very convenient to busses taxi stand and Metro. Walking distance to many attractions. Very different experience than your average US/Canadian Holiday Inn though!! We loved it despite the stairs.

Let me start by saying that the Hotel Barrett staff are very nice but felt more like a revolving door of people than someone we could provide feedback to. My husband and I arrived at noon (local time) and we were told our room would be ready at 3:30. We explored and anxiously awaited our 3:30 check in as we were experiencing jet lag. The room wasn’t ready until closer to 4pm which was disappointing. When we got to the room, the amenities were good and we were given a bottle of wine. However, the fridge in the room didn’t work (hot) which wouldn’t have been an issue it was just to keep our stuff cold but the main reason we booked the hotel was for the food and drink offerings after a long flight - the meat, cheese and cold cuts were inedible. Additionally and most egregiously, the bathroom (with 2 steps leading to it) had no mats. As a result, I slipped down both steps after getting out of the shower. This was the first night of our honeymoon and I’ve been dealing with the consequences ever since (minor fracture in my foot, severe bruising and pain). We only stayed one night at Hotel Barrett and while it was a nice location, we wouldn’t stay there again.

Om ni vill ha en annorlunda vistelse på hotell så välj detta. Service och läge är inget att klaga på, men annars så var det övrigt att önska. Rummet var mkt trångt och övermöblerat var ingen överdrift. Garderoben går ej öppna helt pga av att sängen står för nära. Slår i överallt när man går därinne pga av alla möbler som kastats in. Sen såg vi fram emot en hotellfrukost i en skön matsal. Det blev ju inte riktigt så. När receptionisten visade att kylskåpet är välfyllt och ingår o priset, men man får sitta i sängen och äta frukost då det ej finns nått bord el nått annat att sitta på. Så breda mackan med marmelad i sängen osv var inte vad vi tänkt oss.
