Southernmost Beach Resort and Guesthouses

10/10 Excellent

"We had a wonderful stay at Southernmost in Key West. The room was Cool and comfortable and we had a beautiful view of the ocean. The staff were all very helpful and kind. The only negative of the property would be how spread out it is-it was fine for us but may be difficult for someone with mobility issues. The location was awesome-close to all of the fun Duval st activities. Roxana was very helpful. The pools Were lively and well-maintained with fun activities available. The cafe had great food and all the waitstaff were terrific."

"We arrived late and security gave us a hard time for calling twice. Our room was a 2 bed 2 bath and the guest bathroom toilet never worked. The floors were filthy. My 10 month old granddaughter's legs and feet turned black from crawling on them. The next day they did immediately try to fix the toilet and mop the floor after the office was opened. Never able to fix the toilet so 6 of us had to share 1 bathroom. Did not offer any discount or refunds. The poolside snackbar had great food. The spa was broken and jets weren't working. Great views from pool. If everything worked and was clean would have given higher ratings. Hotel is also next to airport so you will hear planes flying over and about 15-20 min walk to duval street."

"The swimming pool was large as well as the bathroom; however, do not get a pool view room as they are smaller than the normal rooms and one queen bed is literally inches from the air conditioning system mounted on the wall near the floor which blocks a majority of the airflow creating a warmer than desired temperature! The pool needed cleaning and every day there was a lack of towels being provided. The birds were aggressive around the pool fueled by people feeding them and they pooped all over our stuff. There was trash sitting outside our rooms for days for no apparent reason. The ice machine near us was broken and in disrepair with the front cover missing. The breakfast area was too small for the amount of people staying there and was nothing special. They charge $15 daily for parking which was not disclosed prior to check in nor during check in. The room above us sounded like an elephant dancing as the floors must be wood based vs concrete. Despite being next to the airport the noise wasn’t so bad as flights were spread out and I didn’t hear anything overnight. The location is pretty nice which is why we booked there. The fitness room was small and very inadequate…I guess most people don’t worry about working out on vacation…that’s one of mine and my wife’s weird quirks. We had a better overall experience at the Best Western five years earlier!"
