Top Rhode Island Coastal Hotel Reviews

The Shore House
8/10 Good
"We had a quick overnight in Narragansett for a URI event for our son. The room was clean and had everything we needed. The location of the Shore House is right on the water so we could enjoy listening to the ocean. The only negative was the bed wasn't as comfortable as I hoped. "

Aqua Blue Hotel
8/10 Good
"It was very good, no issues and the location is excellent."

The Hotel Maria
10/10 Excellent
"Wonderful hotel and staff!
The hotel was super clean and it was clear it was recently renovated. Generous size bedroom and bathroom, with a balcony overlooking the beach.
The staff couldn't have been nicer. Both front desk members I spoke with were super friendly and attentive and offered suggestions of things to do/places to eat at in the area.
The lobby was fully stocked with refreshments, snacks, and toiletries. Everything was free, I couldn't believe it. Breakfast was small (egg frittata, pastries, and fruit) but was made fresh, not the fake eggs that is typical of hotel buffets.
I travel for one week every month for work and have stayed at lots of hotels. Hotel Maria was one of the best hotels I stayed at for its location, price, cleanliness, and staff. "

The Break Hotel
4/10 Poor
"Weren’t told of any of the amenities when checking in and learned from other staff about cookies, breakfast etc. pool was cloudy due to someone getting sick in it. Room was exceedingly HOT even when we turned off all heat sources. The heat issue plus Bathroom being set for 88 making my wife sick almost every night of our stay. Being just below the fourth floor lounge in 304 meant we hear all the footsteps and activity of equipment on the 4rth floor in the early hours. For 400+ per night we had a nice view and housekeeping was great but we were disappointed in the Hotel overall. "

Holiday Inn South Kingstown (Newport Area) by IHG
2/10 Terrible
"When we first checked in and the smell in the lobby was unbearable. It smelled like sewage. The entire first floor was being renovated. That created a lot of noise into the evening. Once we entered our room, the heat was not working properly. We complained to the front desk they said they did not have any other rooms and they sent a technician who did not do anything with the system. The bedside outlets were not working. Sunday morning housekeeping was vacuuming starting before 8 AM. Before 9 AM Sunday morning of the construction crew came back and started banging all over the first floor. We were on the second floor and can hear it loud and clear. We used the gym which had an empty water dispenser. The equipment was filthy. The canister of wipes were dried out so we couldn’t even wipe down the equipment. When we return to our room, our keys no longer worked.
An hour after checking in on Saturday, I called Holiday Inn customer service and told them I was not happy with the conditions. They contacted the hotel and told me that the manager would be calling me directly to rectify the situation. I asked when and she said within a few minutes. That was Saturday late afternoon. It’s now Tuesday night, I still haven’t heard from anybody."

Atlantic House

Hampton Inn South Kingstown - Newport Area
8/10 Good
"The hotel was pretty good, staff was friendly, room was spacious and clean. The bathroom was good, however the sink drained very slowly. Also, one of the elevators was out of order while we were there and the remaining elevator was very slow. The pool was closed one of the two days we were there so we were not able to use it. It also looked like the fire pit wasn't working that first day. We saw people outside and around it on our second day though. We were happy the room had a fridge. The location was interesting. It was inside what appeared to be a shopping center, however after looking at the other businesses inside, most were just professional businesses. There were a few food places in there, a movie theater, and a brewery, but no real shopping stores there. You have to travel a bit to get anywhere else. We picked this hotel because it was most central to the things we wanted to do while in the area."
