"I booked The Pier House as a solo female traveler & having stayed here before, I felt very safe! I was accommodated with an oceanfront 3rd floor (nobody above me, per my request) balcony room with a phenomenal view of Sunset Island. I also booked there because of the ability to snorkel right off the the beach on property along the rocks that are teaming with diverse marinelife, inside the enclosure floats to keep guests from gettubg caught in the current.
The spa was lovely, but needed some "attention" to whole concept of 'relaxion.
Before my spa services given my robe I was directed to the "relaxation room" that needed the water container that needed to be filled- I had to ask several times, there were multiple people watching videos on their phones! Unacceptable at this level of service. Also, the hot tub deck needed some maintenance & cleaning-there was an glass with old wine fermenting & molding next to the spa.
My massage by Joe was PHENOMENAL! I highly recommend him, but my facial was just ok - seemed a little rough & rushed. Not the experience I was seeking.
The room was super clean & the staff accommodated for the broken ice machine on the 2nd floor, by bringing me buckets of ice on request.
The beach could use a bit of upkeep. There needs to be someone sweeping up the seaweed & the sand needs 'grooming on a daily basis. The beach chairs did have covers & there was always clean fresh towels.
The restaurants were amazing & the seaside dining was a bonus!"
