Revisiting the Rees after 16 Years

We stayed here 16 years ago and it seems the furniture and fixtures & fittings were the same. Our L shape sofa had a stain. Couldn’t work out how to use the gas heater as it kept turning off. Comfortable stay and unbeatable lake side view. Dishwasher, washing machine and dryer were very useful.

We spent 3 days at the Rees. Really enjoyed our stay. Because of limited parking in Queenstown, expect to Uber/taxi to the town as it is a 40 minute walk to town. The service, the views and the rooms were all excellent. Would highly recommend.

Nice hotel room! super service! Restaurant and food was very poor. Roomservice topk 45 min, and got a totally burned cheeseburger. Breakfast was poor, and nobldy was cleaning the tables

Fantastic stay

The best stay of our entire trip! We loved everything about our stay, especially the dual bathrooms and the fireplace. The heated tiles were a luxe little touch and also loved the skincare brand they use! The only con is that they're not in the center of town, but there's a shuttle every hour and it's a short cab ride.

Comfortable room with fantastic views. Staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel location is outside of the downtown Queenstown, even though the hotel does offer a shuttle by the hour with limited 11 seats, a short ride but overall, by foot was just a bit too far for my person preference. Dinner at the restaurant was just fair, nothing to write home about. Restaurant manager was attentive, insightful, kind and yet professional. “Bordeaux” all day dining/snacks/cafè has a rather limited selection choices on food but a nice selection of beverages. The breakfast was rather pedestrian.

Bad experience with an reception staff, they gave my son the expired milk, and the fresh milk wasn’t automatically supplied to us during my stay. they didn’t change my sheets unless I ask them to do so, I can’t believe that I paid for such insufficient services above $900 per night. This is a historically good hotel, but I have no good experience with its services. My English is not good enough, this may cause my bad experiences. As a service industry, there should be no bias against any customers.
