Qala hotel rooms a the Melia

"The photos are incredibly misleading. The pool and sunbathing area shown in the pictures are actually offsite. The real hotel pool is tiny with only a few loungers, which honestly made me feel cheated. I also ended up getting a rash after using the pool - don’t think it’s used or cleaned often. Breakfast was painfully basic; by day two I skipped it completely. One type of egg every single morning (scrambled) and very little variety overall. I’ve travelled all over the world and understand this wasn’t a luxury booking, but the gap between the advertised photos and reality was shocking. I would never stay here again."

"We've just arrived back from a wonderful week in Malta and chose The Malta Marriott in St Julian's. We could not have chosen better as the hotel was fantastic, being in a great location and all staff very friendly and happy to assist on any request we had. Beautiful pools, especially the 12th floor rooftop. Beds were super comfortable and spacious. Highly recommend."

"The hotel is excellent but some of the guests let our experience down. The area is definitely moving towards an Ibiza vibe. We were on our balcony when an “excited”naked young man came out onto the balcony while his friends in the courtyard cheered him on for getting “lucky”, I assume the lady involved was the one who appeared on the balcony later to cheers. That night at “seed” restaurant we watched a group of young men in the hotel courtyard get high from nitrous oxide."

"Hotel rooms dated and in need of refurbishment. Air conditioning very loud and turning itself on and off. Lots of noise from neighbouring rooms. No mention when booking of all the building work next to the hotel. However, spa and pool facilities were very good and the breakfasts and staff were excellent"
