Rocana Hotel

"Our recent stay at the Rocana Hotel was unfortunately quite disappointing. While some members of staff were fun, friendly, and welcoming, others came across as the complete opposite, which made the overall experience feel inconsistent. The location itself is good and convenient, however the parking situation was frustrating. Although the hotel advertises parking, spaces are extremely limited and availability is very hit and miss. On more than one occasion, we had to park on the street and get up early in the morning to move the car before parking enforcement hours began, which was far from ideal. The room itself was a good size, however it felt very tired and in desperate need of remedial work and redecoration. This was also true of many of the common areas beyond the reception area, which appeared worn and poorly maintained. There were several cleanliness and maintenance issues that should not really be present in a hotel of this standard, including stained bed linen, towels that were supposed to be white but are now shades of grey/cream, cracks in the walls, a rotten bathroom door frame, mould in the bathroom, and an ill-fitting toilet seat. Overall, the property feels neglected and in need of significant refurbishment and better upkeep. With investment and more consistent customer service, the hotel could have potential, but sadly the current condition did not meet expectations."

"- both units weren’t ready. Checked in at 3 pm when the actual check in time is at 2PM - Both units were dusty and dirty. I had to self clean and even asked for a broom from the receptionist. - Units’ door in poor condition. You could get locked from outside for no reason - Wifi was not working for one of the unit - Slow response"

"Room is spacious and room service calls were attended promptly. Thank you. Buffet breakfast is RM35. Salad not fresh. Nice to have a gym. One machine out of order and dumbbells have missing piece. It was locked even though was operating hours. Had to call personnel to unlock. "

"1. Toilet should have soft closure 2. Guider for birdwatcher and nature walk are good but can do better. For birdwatch, should bring the guest to the kayak area where more exclusive bird hang around and not lobby and dinning. Nature walk is quite nice but need a bit more training. For both, best i suggest give a guideline on topic to show and say. And if possible collect or take picture for animal evidence like bird feathers, otter walk around the estate, snake skin. "
