Iberostar Selection Riviera Cancún - All Inclusive

"Our experience was disappointing overall. While I understand that resorts offer membership presentations and sales pitches, the approach taken by Octavio and his supervisor (whose name I unfortunately did not get) crossed the line from persistent to intrusive. During our first two days, we experienced repeated contact, including knocks on our room door and calls to both our hotel room phone and personal cell phones as early as 8:00 AM. We have stayed at many resorts and have never encountered this level of pressure. The beach was another major disappointment. It was not swimmable and was barely even suitable for walking, which significantly impacted our enjoyment of the property. The food was average, nothing particularly memorable. The standout employees were the bartenders, who were consistently friendly, welcoming, and fun throughout our stay. As for the room, the layout seemed appealing when booking, especially the option with a door separating the sleeping areas. However, I would not recommend paying extra for this “upgrade”. There is only one air-conditioning vent in the entire space, located near the entrance. Once the divider door is closed, there is virtually no airflow to the separate room, making it uncomfortable. Unfortunately, based on our experience, we would not return. There are many other resorts that provide a more relaxing atmosphere, better amenities, and a more enjoyable guest experience."

"Check in process was a bit of a disaster as even though we told them we had 4 people, they said the room we had booked was really only for 3 people. King bed and twin pull out. Room ended up being just fine has the pull out was more like a double and they gave us a rollaway bed. Buffet wasn't great and there was a lack of authentic food on it. Cave restaurant was awful. Service not great and food was not good. Mexican restaurant had good food and mediocre service. Hunter steakhouse had best food and incredible service by Benjamin. Teppanyaki was ok. Service all around was not what we would expect. We had two people the entire time that truly stood out for Service, benjamin from the steakhouse and Miguel by the pool. We did book a catamaran from cancun to isla mujeres which was easy to book, but cheaper to do on the website rather than through hotel. It is definitely family friendly with lots of kids and a good amount of activities for them through the hotel. My kids are a bit older and didnt enjoy as much as the smaller kids would have."

"We recently stayed at this resort as a couple. While there were many positives, a few significant downsides affected our experience. The Positives: Room & Pools: Our room was nice and comfortable, and the pools were well-maintained. Grounds: The resort territory is beautiful and very well-kept. Entertainment: The animation team was excellent, and the evening shows were highly enjoyable. The Negatives: Dinner Booking System: This was a major issue. If you don't manage to reserve a restaurant table by 10:00 AM, you are in trouble. One evening, the buffet was closed for dinner, and we were left with absolutely nowhere to eat. The Beach & Ocean: If you are coming here to swim in the ocean, forget it—you will only be swimming in the pool. There is a massive sargassum weed problem with a very unpleasant smell, and nobody even tries to clean it up. Pool Towels: On two separate days, there were no clean beach towels available. We had to wait for over half an hour just to get them. Verdict: A decent resort for pool lovers and entertainment, but the food logistics and beach conditions definitely need improvement."

Hotel Marina El Cid Spa & Beach Resort All Inclusive

"I recently stayed at this hotel and was disappointed by the overall experience. The property is noticeably outdated and does not appear to be well maintained. One of the biggest drawbacks was the beachfront area, which was in very poor condition and essentially unusable during our stay. The hotel also limits Wi-Fi access to two devices per room and charges additional fees for any extra devices, which felt unreasonable and outdated for a modern resort experience. Due to the slow season, approximately half of the restaurants were closed, significantly limiting dining options. Securing dinner reservations was difficult, and on several occasions the only available reservation times were as late as 9:30 PM. The alternative was the buffet, which offered a less-than-impressive dining experience. Another frustration was the constant pressure to attend a sales presentation. Multiple members of the hotel team approached us throughout our stay to encourage participation, which became intrusive and detracted from our vacation. While the service staff working throughout the resort were friendly and pleasant, the front desk, concierge, and management teams were generally unhelpful and did not seem interested in addressing guest concerns. Overall, the resort did not meet expectations, and the combination of limited amenities, poor beach conditions, aggressive sales tactics, and lackluster customer service makes it difficult for me to recommend this property."

"The food there isn’t great. Two of the restaurants were just ok. The drinks were gross. It gave me a headache. I was scolded by an employee named Vicente at the pool for having my dog on a stroller there. While checking in, they said I could. Vicente had an attitude and was very rude. They says dog friendly but it really wasn’t. We booked a swim out beach front and the water in our pool wasn’t that clean. I see them cleaning the ones near the pool more.i regret staying here."

"The staff was friendly. The room was clean. The faucet in our room would get air in the line on the hot water side at random times and when I turned it on it would shoot water into me and make a mess of my clothes. The food was solidly mediocre: no amazing flavor, the chips were all stale, but the drinks were good. I was hoping for more exciting food in Mexico, but it wasn't anything particularly memorable: not bad, just not memorable. We stayed for a week with 2 older kids. I would say that was too long. We had done everything after 4 days and needed to book other excursions outside the resort. Just plan accordingly for your needs and personality."

Ventus Ha at Marina El Cid Spa & Beach Resort - All Inclusive

"We have stayed at Ventus Ha in Puerto Morelos four years in a row because we truly love the service, food, amenities, and wonderful staff. Unfortunately, this year's experience was not up to the standard we have come to expect. Several restaurants and bars were closed during our stay, making the resort feel understaffed. The quality of the food and drinks also seemed to have declined compared to previous years, and restaurant reservations were very difficult to obtain. That said, the staff remained amazing, friendly, and attentive as always. They continue to be one of the resort's greatest strengths. We still enjoyed our vacation, but we hope management addresses these issues and restores the level of experience that made us return year after year."

"There are so many pro’s / con’s I give my stay a 5 out of 10. This is more so a family resort even the adult side had kids on it. The main events such as foam party took place on the kids side me being a adult who came to celebrate her birthday without her child I don’t want to be sharing space let alone my vacation with children. Even breakfast lunch dinner had to enjoy that time with kids. Yes I have stayed at many resorts where kids are on one side and adults on the other and that’s what I was expecting. Everything on the adult side closed at 11pm kinda early when your on vacation celebrating your birthday. No real pool activities for the adults which made pool time really boring total opposite of what I thought. Room service was very mid food always arrived cold there are no microwaves in the room. Resort itself really nice just really big it was a walk to get to anywhere on the resort. One thing I can honestly say the staff at this resort is AMAZING it was always “good morning” annd always a “hello” very helpful with any questions you had. This is the perfect family resort if you want to slow down, same pace, down time, quiet, get your rest this is the perfect resort for you and your family"
