Make the most of the beautiful landscape in a city nestled between a vast lake, a mountain range and waterfalls.

Provo is a family-friendly cultural center full of parks and scenic countryside. The city is between Utah Lake and the foot of a mountain range in northwest Utah. Most of the buildings are quite low so many spots in the city have panoramic views of snow-capped mountains beyond the lake.

Explore the picturesque landscape around Utah Lake State Park. Stay the night at a campground and fish in the lake for panfish and catfish. Take a canoe out on the water with friends or family. Relax on a sailboat in the calm freshwater lake. Many woodland trails offer breathtaking views of the water.

Visit Bridal Veil Falls, just north of the city. Gaze up at the 607-foot (185-meter) waterfall. The kids can splash around in the basin at the foot of the falls. Hike along the scenic trails.

Go skating at the Peaks Ice Arena. Ice-skating lessons with a professional teacher are available for the kids. Watch a competitive game of ice hockey between one of the local teams and their rivals. This was a venue for the 2002 Winter Olympic Games.

Seven Peaks Waterpark, one of the largest of its kind in the state, is an ideal spot for a break from hot summer weather. Take a refreshing dip or sunbathe on the grass. Many restaurants in the complex provide a variety of lunch offerings.

Provo Canyon is a vast valley between Mount Timpanogos and Mount Cascade. Capture photos of the colorful views of mossy mountains. Visit The Shops at Riverwoods next to the canyon’s entrance, where you’ll find a collection of boutiques, cafés, restaurants and bars.

Provo is an oasis of family activity 40 miles (64 kilometers) south of Salt Lake City International Airport. Catch a shuttle bus or drive a rental car from the airport to Provo. Find endless adventures in the beautiful surroundings: a huge lake and mountainous countryside with waterfalls, rivers and canyons.
