Top Potterne Hotel Reviews
The Gainsborough Bath Spa
8/10 Good
"A genuinely beautiful hotel and spotlessly clean throughout. The rooms, the common areas and the spa are all beautifully maintained, and the staff kindly stored our luggage before check-in and after check-out, which made the whole trip much easier. The spa is the highlight. It is lovely, immaculately clean, and well worth the visit. It does get busy in the 7pm to 9pm window, when everyone seems to arrive at once, but we still had a very enjoyable time. Two small things stopped this being a five star stay. First, I was expecting a complimentary welcome cocktail and was told I was not eligible because I had booked through Expedia. I understand there are different rates and inclusions, but a guest is a guest, and offering it anyway would have been an easy goodwill gesture that costs the hotel very little. Second, at the end of the stay we were asked whether we wanted to add a service charge of nearly 10% to the deposit. It is optional, of course, but combined with the cocktail situation it left a slightly odd impression, but did it anyway for the staff. None of this takes away from the fact that it is a lovely hotel with excellent facilities, and I would still recommend it."

Holiday Inn Express Bath by IHG
8/10 Good
"At breakfast, I would have liked to have fresh fruit juices and there was no choice of how the eggs were cooked - there was only scrambled eggs. The hotel parking was extremely expensive and the nearest council car park was a good walk away."
Lansdown Grove
10/10 Excellent
"Very close to bath town centre. Only thing to be mindful is the walk up and down to town and back is very steep. May not be suitable with a pram. There are frequent buses however not far from Hotel and Uber is always another option."
Abbey Hotel Bath, A Tribute Portfolio Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"Wonderful hotel with great food for breakfast (lots of choices; à la carte and buffet for cold food); extremely helpful staff; great views; very clean and comfortable."
