This property is amazing. Staff is very friendly, professional, and helpful. The room was gorgeous, view amazing, breakfast incredible. We had an excellent stay here.
Staff were very accommodating, responsive and helpful all-around. Breakfast was a highlight and was in an excellent location to easily get downtown but also far enough way to have a quiet stay. The entire property was very clean. Would easily stay here again!
Beautiful and comfortable rooms!
Very friendly staff!
Incredible view!
Joǎo ensured to maximize our stay and rendered our experience in Porto and the hotel, exceptional!
Will
Come again to this wonderful hotel !
It’s a beautiful boutique hotel, lovely rooms and lovely staff. Breakfast is a super experience. Loved the hotel for my stay in Porto. Juan is wonderful and very helpful.
We absolutely loved our stay! Everything was wonderful, and the view from the property was beautiful. The room was clean and comfortable, and we had a great experience overall. We would definitely stay here again the next time we visit!
Great hotel! From my (very large and comfortable) room I had a beautiful view of the Douro river, and the hotel itself is walking distance from both the river and the city centre. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and the service was great; it's the little details that matter in these things and those were all on point. Breakfast was outstanding, a daily changing 4-course menu. I Will absolutely be visiting again.
What a fantastic place to stay. The staff were outstanding and go above and beyond to make your stay enjoyable and comfortable. And the breakfast is soooooo good. Fresh baked bread and pastries. Loved every moment at this hotel.
From the second when arrived to the moment we left, the staff were nothing but helpful and accommodating. The views from the room were spectacular and the rooms were nice and clean. Breakfast on the terrace had a wonderful view of the river. Everything was a quick walk and accessible to most of the top tourist locations. 10/10.
Staff was exceptionally kind and hospitable. The welcome drinks and breakfasts were so nice. Our room was absolutely stunning. I especially loved the terrace with the wisteria. If we visit Porto again, we will absolutely be coming back!
It was a real pleasure to discover this new hotel. The staff was wonderful! Shout out to the amazing front desk crew and breakfast staff, Erica, Ashley, Warney and Daniela. They made us feel welcome and were always ready to fulfill any request, make suggestions on places to visit, or arrange transportation. We stayed in a beautiful suite that was spacious, charming and honored the palatial history of the property, while accommodating the private art collection. The only slight negative is that is a little far away from some of the sites of Porto if you are traveling on foot. The terrace overlooking the River was beautiful and made a lovely setting for breakfast each morning!
The staff was superb. Hotel is in soft
Launch mode- just opened 1 month ago. But, the service was outstanding. Staff was top notch- they helped me with reservations and coordination of things to do and see. Would love to go again.
I had the opportunity to be one of their first guests, so I got a private tour of the buildinf and the kitchen. Highly recommend this hotel of you want to have an incredible experience.
The staff is also very friendly and ready to help with any questions/requests.
The concierge staff were extremely kind and helpful right from the beginning nothing seemed too much trouble. Hotel itself was immaculate and the room was more than we expected with an amazing view of the Douro river. Room was cleaned daily to a high standard. Bathroom facilities were amazing and so was the bed. Short walk to the main old town or a short taxi to all the main sights. Breakfast was well cooked and a great experience, not all courses were to our taste but that is down to our personal taste. Orange juice was the best we’ve tasted. Would 100% return and recommend to friends and family.
From the moment we arrived, we felt like valued guests. The staff took time to answer all our questions, explain the history of the property, and help with any thing we might have needed help with. This place is luxurious! From the marble shower, dreamy comfy beds, and spiralling staircases, we felt so spoiled.
The daily breakfast was incredible, featuring local jams, breads, and chef's creations, and a wonderful way to start our day.
We wish we had stayed here longer! All the staff at the hotel were lovely and so helpful in every way - they automatically upgraded us to a royal suite at no additional cost and we were amazed by the room and the beautiful view of the Douro river. The in room dining and included breakfast were so delicious and had a lot of variety. Special recognition to Marta for recommending us other cool places to check out for our other stops in Lisbon and Lagos. Would absolutely recommend staying here!
AN EXCELLENT HOTEL WITH A SUPERB VIEW OF THE DOURO RIVER. A PLEASURE TO REST ON THE TERRACE. THE HOTEL ENJOYS A GREAT LOCATION, 15 MINUTES AWAY FROM CITY CENTER. GREAT BREAKFAST AND SUPERB ESPRESSO. EXCELENT STAFF, VERY KIND AND HELPFUL. ERICA AND ASHLEY DESERVE ALL THE WORDS OF APPRECIATION FOR THEIR KINDNESS.
MAIS OBRIGADO. COM CERTEZA VOLTAREI
Great small boutique hotel with plenty of friendly staff.
The room was gorgeous and huge with a bathtub view on the Douro. A little bit of road noise but nothing earplugs don’t fix. The bed was massive and very comfortable. Adding a full size mirror would be good for checking a fit before leaving the room.
Service was above and beyond, with a tour of the property, welcome drink, bags taken to the room and a turndown service. Ines at breakfast was very friendly.
The breakfast is good although the concept of a tasting menu for breakfast is a little odd and ordering à la carte would be better in our opinion.
This is the second Torel property we stayed in and will continue to seek it as a gauge of quality in Portugal.
We booked a stay for a week at the brand new Torel Private Collection to celebrate our 18th wedding anniversary. Everything surpassed our expectations and this Porto vacation will truly stay a memorable souvenir for years to come. The hotel is well located with superb views overlooking the city, the Douro river, and the city of Gaia across. The decor in the common areas and the lobby is very tasteful, and the hotel takes its name from the original art collection that hangs on every wall. This Torel hotel is the definition of a luxury boutique hotel. With only 16 rooms in total, you are guaranteed a quiet peaceful stay where you will always feel like a special guest. Our Deluxe Suite was very clean and spacious with high epoque ceilings and tall windows that opened to romantic views of Porto. The bed and linens were amazingly soft and comfortable, ensuring a restful sleep after long days exploring Porto and its beautiful surroundings. This place is also a treat for foodies as it houses a Michelin star restaurant (Kanjiru Omakase) and Chefs Matos and Rocha curate a delicious breakfast every morning.
Beyond the quality and comfort of the hotel, what made our stay truly enjoyable was the tremendous kindness and assistance generously offered by all the hotel staff. Special thanks to Ashley Silva of Guest Relations who went above and beyond in helping us have a superb visit in Portugal by making recommendations and arrangements to discover in Porto and the Douro Valley.
The property was recently upgraded. Incredible staff. The restaurant on the premises is aiming to become Michelin-starred. Breakfast experience is a must. Incredible view from the hotel overlooking the Douro River. 16 rooms total. The only issue that I have personally experienced is the air conditioner. Hopefully, the hotel at some point will address this issue. Otherwise, it's a great place to stay.
Great hotel with less than 18 rooms. Brand new with homely feel and great staff. Gym and pool in another Torel hotel close by. Great views over the river. Recommend lunch at Japanese restaurant across the road.
Great location away from all tourists down town.
