This hotel can barely be considered a hotel. It’s a 5 star ++++ experience where everything from the staff, food, amenities and location make you feel like a VIP all day long. It is located on a busy touristic strip, but once you cross the iron gates, you are cut of from the rest of the world and transported into absolute luxury. Simply perfect.

This is a beautiful spot and an excellent hotel. The concierge and front desk team were excellent with lots of great suggestions. The reason for four stars instead of five was. 1) we were in a satellite building, and not the main structure, and although it was very nice, there was no way of knowing that that was what we were booking. The website basically shows the beautiful old structure of the hotel, but does not show that separate building. 2) the hotel is set back from the main street by a gate, so there is a sense of privacy, but the immediate vicinity of the hotel is a fairly touristic street. Once again the website here is a bit misleading, as prior to arriving we thought we were in a fairly secluded area.

Canadian here. After 17 days of touring Portugal, this final stop was the icing on the cake. Opulence around every corner! Gated, beautiful location right on the beach. The pool area is exactly what you’d expect from a five star hotel. Breakfast overlooking the beach was magic. For my Canadian friends, think a smaller version of one of our CN hotels. Luxurious.

We loved our stay at Bela Vista! The staff went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable from the second we arrived. Portimão itself is perhaps a little more touristy than other cities in the Algarve, but Bela Vista felt like an oasis away from this. We absolutely LOVED the daily breakfast, pool facilities, and Vista Restaurant - this was the best meal we’ve ever had in our lives!

The preservation of the original home and its fine architecture, Brazilian wood, and gorgeous hand painted tiles was meticulous and made for a very special stay. We really enjoyed the incredible presentation of our salt crusted sea bass at dinner. The service and food were top notch. We were also delighted with our gracious room upgrade, bottle of champagne upon arrival. Delightful property!

This is a very special place: grown-up, sophisticated and the very opposite of a chain. A short walk down to the huge beach. And, a haven from the craziness of the street on the other side of the elegant gates. The breakfast bar is extraordinary. Staff were wonderful and couldn't do enough for us. I rarely say this, as the world is big, but we will be back.

This is a special hotel. The mansion is stunning. The staff are wonderful. The experience at breakfast is amazing. The ladies in the morning do a wonderful job. If you drive make sure you know the code to enter the road in front of the hotel which I missed on the introductory email unfortunately. That is important as you can’t access the road without it. As you drive up you wonder about your choice given the immediate surroundings but once you enter the driveway and mansion all is well. Great experience. If you go you MUST do a private boat tour of the coast with Alvor Boat Trips. This is a requirement!

A no go hotel

The main building with view rooms was great But the other building where the most rooms where was disappointed over all. No value for money. The pool was great. The food under the level. We also eat one evening in the Michelin Star hotel. It was from the food side a total disappointment and much to exepensive. Wenn you pay more than 600€ for a night and they asked 5€ for a soft drink I have my questions. Then I feel it is only about money and not about the core business. And we eat at an other recommended restaurant who become in 2025 a Michelin star and the food was great and the price more than 50% cheaper.
