"A fantastic location, excellent pool, wonderful breakfast buffet. We loved it there. It's about 15 minutes walk to the town centre and whale watching boats etc. Perfect. My only criticisms - which do not reduce the star rating - 1) that the pillows were a bit flat and lumpy and could do with being replaced. And 2) the names of the two sister hotels: Hotel Quinta de Penha da Franca and Hotel Penha de Franca Mar lead to repeated confusion with taxi drivers and excursion pickups etc - maybe the management could consider making the names more distinct from each other!"

"Such a beautiful experience at Reid’s. The staff was a delight and super helpful. Everything was taken care of. We needed a bandaid and the front desk had it in his jacket pocket! They think of everything! We booked several experiences with them and they all were done amazingly well. There were some hiccups in our transfers but very minor. We’ll be back!"

The room, pools, beach area, restaurants and helpful staff combined for a wonderful stay. We split our time on Madeira between Funchal and Calheta which gave us two different, but equally great experiences and allowed us to more easily explore the entire island."
