Personable and authentic staff; sleep in the jungle and get to view everything (sloths, monkeys, etc) others pay guides to see; footsteps from a stunning beach, this is a truly an all in one Costa Rica experience. But as the website notes, this is for those that want a more raw experience, so don’t expect the hottest showers or finest linens. But you are very well taken care of and staff are very responsive. They’ll provide the inside scoop on trusted contacts for excursions. If you want to help support local, book now. Andrea prepares a home cooked breakfast each morning with locally sourced food items (cacao, eggs, coffee even the peanut butter is from local farmers) and has all the connections you could need for building a holiday you’ll never forget. "Pool , staff every thing was great. I wish I had realized There was a small store almost across the street. I also wish they had beach chairs. Take a small soft collapsible ice chest for the beach. I felt very safe there and traveling around the area. Rent a rav 4 or similar. Go beach hopping , explore off the beaten path a little. Not difficult to do. Plug your phone in to the car. You will be fine. "

"The Pangean was a beautiful place in a perfect location. Your not right on the beach, but it's not far. Close to everything, so we walked most of the time that we were there.The room was spacious and clean. The pool was very clean and felt wonderful and the property was quiet. We would stay there again as the town there isn't nearly as busy as all the ones that we had to pass in order to get there."

"KAÑIK is magical! Sebastian, Javier and crew made our experience beyond amazing. The service they provided felt like having a personal concierge. Want a dinner restaurant recommendation? They’ve got you! Not sure of the best transportation options? No problem! Want a Spanish conversation partner? You got it! The hotel itself is very intimate with only 7 casitas and surrounded by the most thoughtful landscaping to provide privacy on each house’s patio. The electrical is a bit funky. Mind you, electricity only became available to that region in the ‘80’s, so it makes sense that there might be capacity/load issues. It was typical for that entire region. Despite that, the accommodations are fabulous. And the beach. No words for that! Approximately 150 meters to walk there. "

"The house was in great condition, kitchen had plenty of plates, cups, pots and pans, utensils, rice cooker, everything. Pool was clean and refreshing. Lots of room for the family for a few days."
