Hotels with Views in Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo

"We had a wonderful time. Our upgraded room was a little disappointing because we did not have an awning over our balcony. There was a little hiccup at the spa but the staff was very apologetic and made it right. We visited this resort many times over the years and management changes. It’s a very nice place. Overall it was a relaxing trip in a great resort. "

"Overall, we had a great stay. Our room was great and worth the money for the swim out. The staff were friendly however there was not a lot of service pool side. And I thought that the liquor selection was on the lower end even though it said high end. "

"Traveled with husband and 5 year old son. Rooms are remodeled but not done well. After check in we quickly discovered a wasp nest on our patio, staff came out after second call and did nothing but said it was not safe. First night of showers water leaked out of shower door into the common bathroom area and then to bedroom hall. We called and nothing was done. Third night a huge water cockroach was in shower, we called and they showed up 1 hour later with a bottle of raid. Staff was nice. Food was very mediocre, typical for a resort. Don’t count on enjoying beach here, maybe time of year but the tide was very high and many flies/bugs. Two great things - 1. The kids water park, My son truly enjoyed it and staff keeps it clean. 2. The spa, I had the best relaxing massage, well worth the money. "

"It was OK. Lack of engagement, evening entertainment, and activities team which would have encouraged guests to better socialize and enjoy their time away. (Compared to many past stays at other resorts like RIU.) Pools are fine but somewhat dated and would benefit from resurfacing. Service staff in restaurants appeared to simply be putting in their time. They would hear you but not listen to you often resulting in wrong orders being served. (Not a language barrier - simply rushing and not hearing.) Made us feel many did not actually enjoy their employment at this resort. "

"We stayed for a few days in February and could not have been happier with the entire experience, from check-in to our unfortunate back-to-reality departure! We loved the pool area and especially loved the location of the hotel in downtown Playa. We did hear music on the weekend evenings but with earplugs or our little handheld sound machine, we were absolutely fine. We will stay here again!"

"Traveled here in April 2026 and it was sooooo nice. The upkeep on the property is amazing, my husband and I had a great time, good music, staff was beyond amazing, everything was close by, beaches were kept clean and the pool, the food was amazing, I will definitely go back here again!"

"The rooms and grounds were very nice. We spent our time at the pools. Two large pools, two bars and some bar service. Food and food choices were good. The only negative was the beach due to seaweed. We usually see some seaweed at the beach but this was extreme as it was also floating in the water. They tried to clean up the beach but didn't have much luck. This also made it smell. Hoping it was just a bad week/month for the ocean. "
