"This is a lovely old hotel in the pretty village of oundle, we stayed in a suite and it was massive! It would be ideal for a family as it had 2 bedrooms one with a huge king and one with twin beds"

"Stayed purely to catch an early train the next morning, but the hotel was fine for that. It's dated but clean, and the staff were great. Bar good enough for a quiet drink. Definitely get what you pay for, overall."

"lovely setting in the bucolic village of Wansford, elegant hotel with very well kept and attractive interior. Check in was great with a very helpful member of staff, full of information about the hotel and different dining styles. We had a great night in a comfortable room, well appointed. Our only problem was that the breakfast service was very slow. I understand that the service was very busy but from arrival to redelivery of our breakfast was over 3/4 of an hour, and some people who arrived after us were served before us. I guess that we were forgotten and staff thought that someone else was looking after us. When the breakfast did arrive it was very good. Sadly, the delayed service marred what would otherwise have been a great stay. If we return to the area we would saty again but try to ensure a speedier service for our breakfast."

"Check-in good, room clean, bed comfey, bathroom shower a reasonable size. I appreciate the included parking and decent breakfast from 0600. Dinner opened at 1800 but tap beer not available for another hour and food on the menu we requested not available so walked 10min down the road to another place for dinner."

"The buffet breakfast looked appealing at first, but unfortunately, most of the food was either cold or only lukewarm. The menu was the same each day, which quickly became repetitive. The pancakes and waffles were especially disappointing—cold and hard, which is not what you would expect. Additionally, serving syrup and toppings from open containers felt awkward and less than ideal. The rooms themselves were clean, which I appreciated, but there were several inconveniences. I had to request a mini fridge, and even then, it did not get very cold. There was no air conditioning, so I had to rely on opening the window for cooler air. Washcloths were also not provided initially and had to be requested. The gym appeared well-equipped, but it was closed for several days during my stay, which was frustrating. Dining was also underwhelming—the steak was thin and not worth the price, and honestly should be reconsidered for the menu. The pizza lacked flavor, and even small details like drinks at the bar fell short, with minimal ice and overall not meeting typical standards. Overall, while the property has potential and maintains cleanliness, there are several service and quality issues that need improvement to meet expectations."
