Hotels near Palheiro Golf Club

"My wife and I stayed for 5 nights. The owner/manager, Daniel, was really great with communication pre/during our stay, which we appreciated. We stayed in the triple room, which had a great view but small balcony, and the room overall was small but enough space to crash at the end of a long day. Location is great, but be prepared to hear bass music until early morning hours on the weekends from nearby clubs. It’s very close to downtown, less than 5 min walk from the main downtown area, but far enough away that you can escape the tourists for a bit. We are vegan/gluten free, so we couldn’t do breakfast that was offered. There’s a kitchen and a fridge if you want to buy your own groceries. Coffee is self serve and cost 0,50€. Lots of stairs, but we’re able bodied so it wasn’t too bad. Overall, great experience for the price. Would book again. "

"Not the best place Zero amenities, no parking, no wifi in rooms No direct access to pools/restaurant/bar. Noisy, no sound proofing. Would not recommend "

"Wonderful rooms- the 2 bedroom villa has a powder room on the main floor, multiple terraces and balconies and a lot of space. Absolutely felt at home- full kitchen, easy to drive to or take a cheap uber to Funchal (typically $7-10). Would stay here again, especially good for families or groups of couples, you have the space you need for privacy and plenty of space to be together and play games, eat meals, etc. Property responded quickly to questions or any issues. "

"Comfortable room, good breakfast and in a great location"

"Pillows were bad! Bumpy and piling inside and pillow case was broken. Bedsheets are loosely prepared so they all come undone when you get into the bed. Breakfast was average, location was good and walkable. Cleanliness in bathroom could be improved. Staff were quiet nice. "

"This was a lovely hotel, with Katia ( the Hotel Manager) present and regularly asking if everything was satisfactory. The building , the rooms , spa and indoor / outdoor pools : all beautifully maintained. The breakfasts were wonderful ( cold buffet but also choice of omelets, eggs Benedict etc!) Dinners at either the golf club or Oxalis dining room very good . For us the outstanding features were the fantastic Palheiro gardens …..& the exceptional friendliness of all the staff ( Sonia, Mario, Ed just to mention a few !)"

"Lovely breakfast menu. Same as with usual visits but with the addition of omlette station and improved toasters as well as make your own coffee machines. Our room had a view, both of the pool abd sae, including harbour. Nice new sun loungers and parasols. Plenty of choice i=on cocktail menu. Cocktails really well made. Lovely gourmet dinner menus"
