Hotel Jägerhof

"We stayed in four different hotels during this vacation and Hotel Jagerhof was by far our favorite. The staff was friendly, the room was plenty big enough for three people, and there was a lot of space in the shower for all of our toiletries (and we have a teenager daughter). Our room seemed to have been recently renovated and the hotel is in the perfect location to walk everywhere. Breakfast was very good as well. The only thing missing in the room is a small refrigerator to put a few bottles of water to keep cold but that is certainly very minor. We would definitely stay here again and recommend to others."

"A little over priced for what you get as the bathroom is very small. No privacy on balcony and the bed is 2 single beds when I booked a double, which was disappointing as when you pay so much you hope for a proper double bed not 2 singles pushed together. I also asked them not to make our beds when I went to drop my laundry off and said to just drop off clean towels with clean laundry and they made our beds anyway which was not ideal as I had my belongings on the bed and asked them not to and I didn’t hang the “make my room” sign.. it made me upset to come back to my belongings being moved when I went through so much effort to avoid that. The laundry was so expensive as well and don’t think they listened to my instructions to wash on delicate. The sauna was the best part. Place looks better in photos. I don’t like how deceiving the photos are on every hotel that we book, the places never look as good as the photos."

"The hotel is absolutely beautiful & well maintained in every detail. Kudos to the gardening staff for the magnificent surroundings bathed in the scent of jasmine. Spa experience (massage & facial) was excellent. My lake view superior room was lovely, clean. I’d think twice before staying here again for 1 reason: the sub-standard food. We dined at Il Borromeo 3 times & none of our dishes were hot nor prepared as ordered. They came out of the kitchen too quickly after ordering so we gathered they were pre-made. One night we ordered Wagyu steaks, medium rare. They were thin cut, served COLD & medium well; vegetables & sauce also stone cold. Sent them back & received well done meat. Sent that back & ordered the tagliata steaks, medium rare …got medium. The cacio e pepe was lukewarm, veal without flavor. The carbonara was also lukewarm & sticky rather than creamy. Bread was hard & lacked flavor. As for the breakfast served in Il Borromeo all the various croissants were dry (so disappointing). The lone bright spot for dining is Le Bistrot — the poolside snack bar! Great food there. Other small things need work: water bottles not replaced during our 4 day stay, no mint at turndown is odd for a 5-star, CNN not working even though we reported it twice. At check in Reception did not have a record of my pre-booked spa appointment & said *I* should call the spa to confirm. (Umm, no, that’s your job, Sir.) Restaurant staff more concerned about breaking down tables than serving guests."

"The resort was beautiful, the restaurant on site was handy for a nearby dinner. The included breakfast was amazing! And the spa had some great features and was spacious and comfortable. Highly recommend Alpen Resort!"

"A little quieter at the end of town. Our room was next to River with a perfect view of Matterhorn. Little frig in lobby where we could buy wine and chocolate for after dinner viewing. Full breakfast buffet. Very quiet lovely patio off dining room."
