Osaka Prefectural Government Sakishima Building which includes a city, night scenes and a river or creek
See Osaka’s sprawling cityscape and bayside area framed by rolling mountains from the sky-high observation deck of this towering building.

The Osaka Prefectural Government Sakishima Building, also known as the Cosmo Tower, is one of Japan’s tallest towers. This sleek world trade building rises 828 feet (252 meters) and features an intriguingly designed observation deck and café. Take in magnificent panoramic views of Osaka from the tower’s observation deck and spot Osaka’s landmarks and waterways below.

Strolling towards the Osaka Prefectural Government Sakishima Building, you won’t be able to miss its glittering mirrored windows and impressive geometric design. Built in 1995, the building was formerly known as the Osaka World Trade Center Building and houses offices for companies trading all over the world. Enter via the building’s ground floor and soar up 51 floors in a see-through elevator. An escalator will then bring you up to the observation deck on the building’s 55th floor. Housed inside an inverted triangle-shaped glass structure, the observation deck features a glassed-in terrace that offers 360-degree views of the city.

Make use of the coin-operated binoculars and informative brochures to spot the distant Akashi Kaikyo Bridge, the red-colored Minato Bridge, airplanes landing at Kansai International Airport, the Yodo and Yamato rivers, Osaka Castle and Kyocera Dome. Stay to watch the sun set beneath far-away mountain ranges and watch the city begin to glitter with evening lights.

Visit the Planet Café within the observation deck to enjoy a selection of light meals and refreshments with stunning views.

The Osaka Prefectural Government Sakishima Building is approximately 40 minutes from Umeda Station by train. The building is within a 5-minute walk from the Trade Center Mae Station. Several buses and trams also stop nearby. Admission to the observation deck is inexpensive and discounts apply for school students. The observation deck is accessible daily until late in the evening however, opening hours are shorter on weekdays. The Osaka Prefectural Government Sakishima Building is free to enter with the 1- or 2-day Osaka Amazing Pass, which enables free or discounted access to several destinations and museums around the city. The building is also nearby the Maritime Museum.
