Resort was super clean and staff was amazing. At first it might be a little harder to navigate the check in entrance because it's different then the actual hotel entrance. They have tons of great things to do and it's truly beautiful. 10 out of 10 for the most amazing vacation experience.
Waterpark was an extra $25/day/person fee. Wavepool and lazy river were quite crowded, but kids had fun. It was pretty close to everything (15 min anywhere we wanted to go). Rooms were clean/nice/good condition (but dated in terms of style -- pictures were accurate). I was happy with it and would do it again.
Room was clean and updated. It was a time share property but we were not pressured into buying so that was nice. Did have a few issues with the room key but that was it.
Overall good experience, the staff is great and responsive. However, the rooms are outdated, including appliances and furniture. Also, the largest water park, that is being advertised as the main attraction at the resort, charges $25 per person.
We’ve taken a lot of vacations with our kids over the years and this is our favorite resort so far. They have everything right there and if you need something particular, Walmart is 2 minutes away. We spent most of our vacation at the resort because it was so relaxing. Our kids played tennis and spent their days paddle boating, playing putt-putt golf, and riding the water slides. They also have a wave pool and plenty of lounge chairs. It’s just an amazing resort. I will let you know that while the pools are free, the waterpark is an additional $25/per person per day unless you’re a timeshare owner.

Liked: Staff & service
Friendly staff. Clean room. Room was a bit dated & the AC kept blowing out hot air. Also the pizza place ran out of pizza. The bed was also a little lumpy. Other than the "bad" bits it was a nice stay.
Outside smelled like dog poop in some areas and I almost stepped in smushed dog poop on the side walk and the person that stayed above me had a dog it was so aggravating hearing his paws/nails while it walked through their unit all night and early morning and it’s $25 to go to the water park that’s on the property I think that’s crazy this is the only resort I ever been to that does that but besides that I think the place was nice n clean beautiful view I had a one bedroom deluxe villa n I loved it
The room was clean, staff were very helpful. Couple things i wasnt happy with was that you had to pay extra for the water park? For how much you pay to stay, you think that would be included. Parking cam be a paun too when they have high occupancy. Also, not having some kind of continental breakfast is annoying too. Even the cheapest hotels usually have that. Overall, good experience, lots to do for every age. Would recommend for sure.
Hotel focuses on Time shares. The hotel does include a water park but it does cost money to enter it. There are other various pools you can swim at for no additional cost. My biggest gripe was no breakfast. I wasn't expecting free breakfast, but to at least go to the hotel restaurant and purchase it. So if you do plan to stay here don't expect many breakfast options, plan to bring and cook it for yourself or to go to an external location. The rooms were clean and it's nice to have more than one bedroom. The beds weren't super comfortable. Overall it's great if you have a larger group and want to be in the same space and have an air bnb vibe.
WATERPARK NOT INCLUDED!!!
Our room was recently refreshed and clean. The sofa bed was incredibly squeaky and uncomfortable so it really should just be listed as a 2 people room. The initial time share presentation was easily avoided. However we felt very misled about the waterslides. We didn't see anywhere on Expedia's site that they were not included, and the photos are featured prominently. Our kids were really excited to head there and it was a huge disappointment that it was not included. I tried to work with Expedia so we could book something else, however the "hotel did not respond" so we didn't hear back until our vacation was done. Overall the room was better than expected, the multiple pools were nice, but don't go for the waterslides and lazy river, you pay extra for that and it's really not worth it if you don't have a full day to enjoy it!
The resort is beautiful and very spacious, with multiple pools and plenty of activities to enjoy. It’s a great place for families and for those looking to relax and have fun. However, one major downside is the WiFi - it does not work properly. If you’re planning to work remotely or rely on internet access, it will be very difficult.Although I didn’t use the pool due to the cold weather, I could see that many guests were enjoying it. There are activities and music starting early in the day, which creates a lively atmosphere, but be aware that the music is quite loud and can be heard clearly from the rooms. The staff were incredibly kind and attentive. They always responded quickly to my messages and made sure my stay was comfortable, which I truly appreciated. In terms of dining, the resort has only one main restaurant. The food is good, but options are limited. There is no dedicated breakfast restaurant, only a small bistro, which tends to have very long lines.
The location is very convenient, as it is close to Universal Studios and offers a free shuttle service. There is also a pizza place on-site. While the food was okay, unfortunately, my daughter became sick after eating there and experienced vomiting for two days. The resort staff handled the situation professionally and kindly offered us a late checkout so she could recover more comfortably, which I appreciated. Overall, it’s a nice resort with great amenities and excellent staff.
Staff here is beyond friendly and helpful. Anything we asked for or needed was quickly attended to. Great place for families. We loved that there were seven pools and a waterpark. Great stuff for kids like an arcade with prizes, mini golf, and ice cream shop. I really wish there were better food options. Besides a spot to pick up pizza, and some options in the water park, it’s just the one actual restaurant (sports bar & restaurant type place). With how gigantic this property is, they would benefit from more food choices. And definitely need a proper breakfast place. The only breakfast option is the coffee shop. They serve Starbucks coffee, but it’s not a traditional Starbucks and has far less options. I just didn’t like feeling like I had to drive every time I wanted something better than a pastry or slice of pizza. Again they do have the one restaurant, but how many times can you have lunch and dinner at the same place? That being said, if you plan to cook in room, then none of this will be an issue! I want to emphasize how warm and hospitable every staff member was. Pools were very clean, check out was a breeze, views were beautiful. Location is great for most attractions. We enjoyed Discovery Cove and Universal while there, quick drive to both! We also really enjoyed taking the drive to the Medieval Dinner experience. Lots of things to enjoy close by. Be advised the water park is not included in your stay, and only has a few attractions in it.
The pools are probably the best part of the property and are wonderful; water is clean and nearly perfect temp (at least in late March) and the chairs, tables and flat areas is great shape. The hot tubs are also nicely warm. There are several pools and a wave and slide area. There’s also a large adult only pool, but it’s a bit of a walk to get there. In another pool area there’s a river in triangle shape, it’s not very long but on hot days it’s probably not too bad to get cooled off in.
The condition of the property is good but showing a bit of age in places. We had a ground floor king room with bar sink, micro fridge, coffee maker and toaster. The fridge didn’t seem to shut off and would promptly freeze everything in it, even set to lowest setting.
The shower was great, water hot and didn’t have to wait for it. The large tub was good but drain liked to leak. Carpet looked fairly clean but walking bear footed would produce dirty feet.
On ground flour there was a couple rather noisy A/C units just outside our room, so noise sensitive sleepers will want to request a room not on the ground floor or not next to a/c units. But some buildings use split a/c that were very quiet, probably just bad luck in our case.
Overall Westgate was 4+ but the room we had wasn’t ideal, others probably are.
There is no daily or every two day room service, the rooms are serviced once a week but new towels and consumables are available upon asking.
There’s a wonderful, safe walking side.
Definitely worth it to get the full 1 bedroom instead of the studio villa as the mini fridge couldn’t hack it. Made great use of the jacuzzi, the pools and other amenities. I would absolutely return to this place.
