The entire staff was welcoming and kind. They were also very friendly and gave us great food recommendations. We felt comfortable and as if it was home away from home.
Hotel Azul is outstanding! We had such a wonderful stay. The hotel common areas, restaurant, and rooms are beautiful and the staff was incredibly kind and thoughtful. We could not have asked tor a better location in the city. We will be back!
Nothing but wonderful things to say about this hotel. The rooms are gorgeous, the staff is helpful, breakfast was fantastic, the rooftop bar is perfect. We will recommend this hotel to anyone going to Oaxaca. It is in a very clean and safe area of Centro and everything is very walkable from here.
Beautiful hotel with unique rooms. Close to many restaurants and Zócalo. The staff was very kind and accommodating which many hotel chains in the area lack. However the staff here were always a step ahead in meeting your needs. Highly recommend when visiting Oaxaca.
Friendly and very helpful staff. Very clean and nice rooms. The only disadvantage is the shutters on windows make the room very dark.

The hotel staff and Mexican food at this hotel were wonderful! It's very walkable and just a couple blocks from the cathedral of Santa Domingo. The toliet in room 4 did not flush well. Except for that 1 thing the hotel was great for the price! There was even a wedding at the hotel while I was there!
We stayed at Hotel Azul for nine nights and absolutely loved it. The staff was incredibly kind and helpful from start to finish. The hotel itself is beautiful—tastefully designed with a peaceful courtyard and charming details throughout.
The location is just about perfect. It’s a quick five-minute walk to the Zócalo, so everything is easily accessible, but it’s also tucked away on a quieter street. Even during Guelaguetza, we had no trouble getting a good night’s sleep.
The included breakfast was very good—fresh, well-prepared, and a nice option to have. That said, we didn’t take advantage of it as often as we could have, mostly because we were eager to explore the incredible food scene in Oaxaca.
All in all, Hotel Azul was the perfect base camp for exploring one of the most interesting and vibrant cities I’ve ever visited. We’d absolutely stay here again.
The only negative is that the rooms are a little dark. The lighting is poor. The rooms don’t have open windows. They have blinds that give you some light from the center courtyard but it’s really not enough light.
