1. Zicatela Beach

The long, straight stretch of golden sand at Zicatela Beach (Playa Zicatela) is the setting for Puerto Escondido’s most lively neighborhood. Nicknamed the “Mexican Pipeline” because of its powerful waves, the world-famous beach break here attracts surfers from all corners of the globe. Observe the wave riders in action and mingle with them back on dry land in the buzzing bars, restaurants and nightclubs.

2. La Entrega Beach

La Entrega is one of Huatulco’s most enchanting beaches. With its incredible underwater ecosystems, it is often referred to as a natural aquarium. As the sun begins to set, enjoy the region’s famous seafood at one of the many restaurants that line the oceanfront.

3. Carrizalillo Beach

Despite the large number of dazzling beaches in the region, Carrizalillo Beach (Playa Carrizalillo) still manages to astound vacationers with its beauty. Walk down a steep stairway of about 160 steps that leads down the slopes of a forest-clad cliff to reach this protected bay. At the bottom, a stretch of fine sand is lapped at by gently rolling waves.

4. Puerto Angelito Beach

Enjoy sun, sea and sand at the picturesque Puerto Angelito Beach (Playa Puerto Angelito). This small stretch of pristine sand curves around the attractive Puerto Angelito Bay and slopes gently down into tepid, transparent water. 5. Chahue Beach

Chahue Beach is the largest beach on Chahue Bay and one of the most popular in Huatulco. At over 2,000 feet (600 meters) long, Chahue Beach offers plenty of space for the crowds of locals and visitors who come here to unwind, exercise and play. Join the locals for a jog, jump from the shoreline into the deep water and purchase local street food from beachfront vendors. Watch locals play games of beach soccer and volleyball.
