The staff here is so helpful and friendly. Gave us directions, got taxis, made reservations, gave suggestions for where to go, always with a smile. Full service for sure. Rooms were large, clean, and comfortable. We had everything we needed. Located on a quiet street walking distance to the center.

Lovely

Beautiful place off the beaten trail a bit (but not completely out of the tourist zone) in a quiet neighborhood. The property is lux and lovely. The breakfasts were tasty and the staff was wonderful.

Our second stay was lovely, as before. The location is a short walk from Centro, which may be less convenient for older travelers. Light sleepers or those who enjoy late mornings should choose an upstairs unit. Also, be aware that the hotel now allows families with children.

A most beautiful property tucked into the Xochimilco neighborhood and walkable to the sites around Oaxaca. The attention to detail in the art and architecture of the property is impressive, and the gardens and outdoor spaces are welcoming and peaceful. Each and every staff person was very friendly and helpful in offering suggestions of what to do and see for our first visit to Oaxaca. We loved the style of our room, the delicious daily breakfast, the bar in the afternoon and the general ambiance. We highly recommend this boutique hotel. You won't be disappointed!

The property is absolutely beautiful, unfortunately they could not accommodate a party of six and had to pay for another room. It was all siblings, and we were hoping to hang out throughout our stay. We offered to pay more, but they would not allow it!!

Over the course of our stay in Oaxaca we stayed at 3 hotels. Unfortunately, we made the mistake of staying here first and spent the rest of our time missing this amazing place. Even the single rooms are huge and the two room suite feels like a large apartment with big outdoor space. The common gardens are beautiful and a haven of calm from the busy streets of town. The included breakfasts were absolutely delicious. The cocktails at the bar were wonderful and reasonably priced. The entire staff from the aptly named Dulce at check in through every member of the team we met were kind and helpful. I hate to say this but the rates seem beyond reasonable for what you get (our other hotels were more for smaller rooms and less charm) and I'm already looking forward to returning.

We had such a great time here during our four-night stay! Things started off a little funny when we arrived late and the night staff wasn’t sure which room we were in—it added a bit of humor to the trip—but everything smoothed out quickly. The room was huge, more like a one-bedroom suite, and it overlooked the beautifully decorated garden, which we absolutely loved. It was such a peaceful and relaxing view to wake up to every morning. The included breakfast was a nice touch—there was a small buffet with fruits, yogurt, pastries, coffee, and tea, plus a menu where you could order dishes like huevos rancheros. It was a perfect way to start the day! The service was fantastic throughout our stay—big thanks to the staff. Everything felt really smooth and well taken care of. Plus, the location is excellent, right at the end of El Calejón Avenue, making it super easy to get into downtown and the touristy spots. Overall, a quiet, comfortable, and well-located hotel with great service. Highly recommend it!

We stayed at El Callejon Hotel last year and it was phenomenal. We invited family and friends this year and wanted to share this experience with them. Unfortunately, it fell short this year. It started with our arrival. We were received with nothing special whereas last year they had copitas de mezcal and mezcal granita or nieve for us. This year not even a map nor orientation of the attractions near by. I expressed my concern and was reassured they would make it right and that this was due to the fact that the chef had an emergency. I understood and know emergencies happen. But, we were there 5 nights and nothing was made right-not even a map. It was all in the details that were missing this year. Another example, they did not provide us with daily bottled water in the room this year. We had to ask the desk personnel daily. They did not help us to the door this year and ensure we had a taxi despite not being busy and just sitting at the desk. We enjoyed our stay in Oaxaca with our family and friends but it wasn’t because of El Callejon Hotel. It was just average.
