"Wonderful stay"

"Front desk staff and cleaning staff were great. The hotel is not. The pool area looks like an old school prison pool. Totally not inviting. We didn’t use it once during our eight day stay. The sliding door in our room didn’t close properly. There were people smoking in the alley outside our room and because the door didn’t close, the smoke kept coming into our room. We booked two rooms and requested they be adjoining. Unfortunately the door to join the rooms wouldn’t open despite multiple attempts. The breakfast is subpar. I don’t understand the reviews saying the food was good. It’s a little better than cafeteria food at best. There was loud construction noise at the hotel from 8 am to 4 pm M-F. Also, not the hotel’s fault but good to know, there are chickens and roosters in the area that start making noise at 3 am. Apparently chickens are sacred in Hawaiian culture so they are abundant in this area. The only good thing about this hotel is the location. It’s literally a block from the ocean. Despite it’s location, I would not stay here again."

"I was not told the hotel is under construction and they would start from 9-5 and we couldn’t rest at all, especially that I’m pregnant and wanted to rest more and couldn’t . There was no hot water and I called them 4 times and basically said it is what it is . They couldn’t even move us to different room. The front desk lady was rude and would just stair at you. Towels were so tough that we felt like it was scratching our body. I would not come back . "

"Shower stalls are like a cruise ship. Super small. Ice machine only on lobby level. Microwaves are only in a few rooms so you need to go to lobby ask for key to other room. Great gym, pool. "

"Good location. Ala Moana shopping center is within walking distance as is the beach and downtown Waikiki. Rooms are clean and parking was convenient and hassle free. The hotel itself is due for an update, but it is clean and I had no issues."

"This is a terrible hotel. It is not on the beach. You have to use a QR code and get beach chairs from a neighboring hotel and carry it to the beach yourself: there are no hotel beach chairs. Rooms are much smaller than noted. They are not near 300 sq ft but more like 150. Closer to a 3 star then a 5 star "

"Great experience we got the renovated Hightower ocean view rooms. Great location & amazing views. "
