"The outside of the buildings looked a little old, but inside, it was very clean and very comfortable with an impressive amount of helpful appliances for food and temperature/humidity comfort. The shower and bedroom were particularly nice. I would have given this hotel a perfect 5 star rating, but unfortunately the bedroom window (Room #7) faced a separate residential house that had many very loud and annoying dogs that barked every day from 6am to 12pm without stopping. "This was an excellent ryokan with a very convenient location, just a short walk from the main tourist attractions and the bus stop. The service was outstanding, and the staff were incredibly warm, welcoming, and attentive throughout our stay. The highlight of my visit was definitely the private bath overlooking the river. It was so peaceful and relaxing, and easily one of the best experiences of my trip so far. I would highly recommend staying here if you're looking for an authentic ryokan experience with exceptional hospitality."

"Convenient location, across from Nikko station. Some corners of my room were slightly dusty, but overall, the room was clean, spacious and comfortable. The hotel may be a little dated but this didn’t bother me. Facilities are well-maintained. Enjoyed the on-site onsen and complimentary beverages in the morning and evening. There was a slight issue at check-in which the helpful staff worked to resolve."

"Position is convenient for train and restaurants. Onsen area was fabulous alternating temperature between the 2 pools each day. All the personal care items you need. Microwave on each floor is handy. There was at least 1 english speaking staff on front counter at all times. Dinner a little expensive but food was nice."

"Very economical hotel. Room was relatively spacious (compared to Tokyo), clean, and there is lots of free parking. There aren't very many reasons to come here as an overseas traveller but this is a decent option if you are passing through and it punches well above its price in terms of delivery. Small quibble, arrived a couple of hours early and asked if my room was available -- was told I _could_ check in early but I would be charged for each hour early. It's only a favour if it is available, but I think the deal generally is pay for a guarantee, but if a guest is a little early and the room has been cleaned, you check them in."
