"I liked the hotel overall and thought the staff were all really nice! The swimming pool and steam room were good and bar was nice too! The reception areas also nice! My issue however was we were given a room that absolutely reeked of dog! As we’d been to races and then went to health club we didn’t really notice until 10pm and couldn’t be bothered to change! Seems there had been a doggie convention there a few days before and although sanitised and clean the room really smelled! I’d give the hotel another go but dont think they should put guests in rooms until smell has gone ! I’d ask to move next time ! Bed was super comfortable though and I think overall was good value stay"

"My husband and I stayed here for one night and overall had a very pleasant experience. Our room was beautiful, clean, and full of character, and we especially appreciated how dog-friendly the property was. The grounds and exterior of the inn were absolutely idyllic and felt like something out of a painting. The only area that could be improved was the welcome and communication from staff. While we were shown to our room at check-in, we weren't given some basic information such as breakfast times or instructions for accessing the property after hours. When we returned around midnight, we weren't sure how to get back in. Fortunately, the manager was still around and was very friendly and helpful. Overall, it's a charming and unique place to stay, and with a slightly warmer welcome and clearer communication, the experience would have been even better."

"Room was clean and spacious. My only small complaint would be the pillow, but that is not unusual. Pillows are a personal preference. The staff were so polite and helpful. The WiFi worked well for both of us, with no issues getting online. We had our evening meal at the Queens, the starter and mains were excellent. I couldn't manage a sweet. The waiting staff were a pleasure to talk to. Breakfast of scrambled egg and poached salmon was delicious. There is a very capable chef in the kitchen. Would I recommend, YES"
