Grand Millennium Auckland
8/10 Good
"Great location, comfortable accommodation. Stayed in a club room on 12th floor at the end of hallway. Air conditioning was non responsive room was uncomfortably cold. Once again no luggage rack or bench. At least when asked one arrived. Along with electric heater for the room. Club room was OK. More simple snacks and less of the warm food that wasn't checked and cold. Drink selection was great. Breakfast was basic but enjoyable in Club room. Downstairs breakfast was good but several children let loose made it feel like MacDonald's without the playground. The staff did their best to keep them at bay. Obviously the parents felt entitled 🙄 All in all was a good stay but not a great stay, would stay again probably not on weekend or school holidays."

Four Points by Sheraton Auckland
8/10 Good
"We highly recommend four points to anyone who is looking to stay in Auckland city. Expedia made the booking process very easy. First ever time staying here and we received lovely service, staff that was very cooperative with changes, the food was amazing and to top it off we got to enjoy drinks at their breathtaking roof top bar. My partner and I were very happy."

The Grand by SkyCity
2/10 Terrible
"The only thing grand about this hotel is its name. This property falls well short of what I would expect from a 5-star hotel and struggles to meet even a 4-star standard. The room amenities were extremely basic. We were provided with only one shower cap and one vanity kit, with no additional toiletries. There were only two mugs in the room, no teacups and no complimentary bottled water for a 2-night stay. The breakfast buffet costs an eye-watering $45, yet even basic details seemed overlooked. There were no tongs available to remove bread from the containers, which is both unhygienic and surprising for a hotel claiming a premium standard. We witnessed grown men touching pastries with their hands and putting them back down for unsuspecting guests to eat. The lift situation was frustrating. Despite having three lifts, wait times were consistently long. The location is the hotel’s strongest feature, but paying over $300/night for a harbour view room is not worth the lack of sleep and peace and quiet. The biggest issue was the complete lack of soundproofing. We could hear neighbouring rooms showering and flushing toilets, phone alarms going off, loud conversations, and guests moving around at all hours. Babies screaming, toddlers running up and down hallways and doors slamming throughout the day and night (thank you, room 1721, with the unruly children!) made it impossible to relax or get a decent night’s sleep. See Google for full review."
