"Lots of negativity about this Hotel Our experience was Very good Check-in Swift hall Reception downstairs areas Magnificent Staircase Ladings upto 1st floor all new carpets Clean room was great clean superb shower room Staff we're Fantastic Really Helpful and friendly Yes parts of hotel bit Shabby/need updating which is a huge task giving Size of the building but work ongoing in smartining it up Only real moan the fantastic balcony overlooking the sea front (Smoking Area) could do with pressue washing sooner rather than later and add few more Bins Just booked for next year going to be interesting to see the changes and upgrades they doing "

"For the price we paid, this was excellent! The hotel is stunning when you walk in, the rooms were nicely decorated, if a little grubby but we weren’t expecting 5*. The beds were really comfy. I’m not sure what the rooms would be like in summer as there was no heating or air conditioning and windows didn’t open much. The bars ares were excellent too! Staff were really nice, didn’t seem the best trained in hospitality, which surprised me for a Britannia Hotel but still, we weren’t put off - maybe some staff had called in sick and they were covering? We’d definitely return. "

"Jacuzzi was out of order and pool cold due to broken pump. No complimentary breakfast or discount was given. Very disappointed as only booked that hotel over others for facilities and they were unavailable. 30 minute walk to get to the main attractions"

"The room was as expected small but to see the sea view the window was high. Not what I expected from the picture. Bed was a double but the mattress was comfortable in the middle but if you want to sleep nearer the edge you have to be careful not to fall out it is so soft. Food was good in the evening. Did not have breakfast. "

"Tired and in need of care and refurbishment. Parking limited and not easy access. Room showing signs of damp in bathroom. Entry door damaged and needed repair to gain access. Plus side hot water supply very good. Staff friendly and helpful. Disappointed after good cooked breakfast at the weekend Monday morning continental breakfast, which consisted of dry, stale mini croissants and pain au chocolat, no chese or cold meats(available at the weekend) and hot drinks machine not working. "

"Clean, well equipped and warm room. Owner allowed us to park up on our early arrival which was appreciated. 10-15 minutes walk either down to the beach (steep) or into the town centre. Our room had a small fridge with bottled water and single serve milk cartons and a coffee pod machine with pods. Tea, coffee, hot chocolate and two packs of 2 biscuits were supplied. Ceramic cups for tea, glass cups for pod coffees and glasses all on hand. Just a very well thought out guest experience. The hotel is 3 floors high with no lift so uf mobility is an issue you may struggle with stairs to the higher rooms. Comfy bed and quiet. Would definitely stay here again."
