"Unsure what makes this an eco retreat aside from the fact they ask you to bring your own water bottle to refill with water they provide and there is no hot water for showers. The property has a lot of potential but it felt maybe slightly neglected. There was a lot of debris on the ground, the kitchen area was really dirty and the room had rusty racks and shower curtains that allowed water to spray out all over the floor. Hotel Riu Guanacaste - All Inclusive

8/10 Good

"The property is beautiful with stunning landscapes, plenty of bars and restaurants The staff didn't do a great job cleaning the room, all they did was make the bed and give fresh towels. The Asian restaurant on the property need to take reservations as every night we tried to go they wait was over an hour long or they were not taking any more people. The steakhouse is not worth visiting, food was mediocre at best and its a set menu, bread comes without butter, the Caesar salad is for a five year old and the mixed grill not good, the Argentina chorizo was hardly cooked and didn't taste like Argentine chorizo. The beach is nothing special but the views from the water are spectacular. This time of year its full of families with little kids so dont go if your a couple looking for a quiet time I feel the hotel need to control the parents with the kids better on a few occasions we went to the bar, the pool bar area is supposed to be 18 plus but way too many families were drinking while there kids played in the pool bar area. At night there were kids in the bar unsupervised by parents, one night there were two children like 5 and 7 asleep on bar stools while parents drank. We wanted a drink and to sit at bar and I motioned to bar tender about kids, he did nothing The buffet also needs to control kids as too many were picking up food with hands smelling it and throwing it back in the food area. They were also just running around the place Place is remote and gift shop is expensive"

"I had an amazing time at this Hotel. I was nervous because I was on a solo trip, but i felt completely at ease and safe. The views are magnificent and everyone was friendly. The free shuttle service to downtown Tamarindo is great and I enjoyed the beach club that we have access too. The food at the Hotel is excellent as well. I really loved my experience."

"Everything was great. The staff is friendly and they work hard all day. I hope they get compensated good. Without the staff, it wouldn’t be possible. Definitely recommend this place for families. And to the people complaining about finding some bugs, lol its Costa Rica.."

"I travel the world and rarely want to go back to hotel because there are so many others to see, but Jardin del Eden had everything I was looking for in a boutique hotel for my adult son and I, and I will return. I felt like it was a boutique Four Seasons without all of the stuffiness. The food was top quality and while breakfast and dinner were provided, it did not have an all inclusive feel. The menu, quality of food and presentation were superior. The rooms and grounds were so well maintained, beyond what I expected. The staff were always professional, smiling, sincere and so friendly. I was recommended Jardin by some friends and will recommend it to others."
