"Main complaints. No parking onsite at the hotel. Double bed is just 2 singles pushed together. Toilet fan didn’t work causing a lingering smell. Windows won’t push open at all making it difficult for fresh air to circulate with pools of condensation on window sill. Mitigations. There was some works going on at the back of the hotel and there was a 24 hour long stay car park a short walk away but this came at additional cost. I complained about the double bed but they explained that apparently this it is standard hotel practice for the price point. I’m not too sure about that. To my mind it was sold a double bed which is what I paid for and it’s not really a double bed. The central spine made it uncomfortable to sleep in. Other than that the rooms were clean and nicely presented and the staff were professional, attentive and polite. No complaints about breakfast."

"Overall the stay was ok, the room was a good size for our family and breakfast was nice. However the hotel was a little run down and the pool and hot tub were cold. We didn't have a very enjoyable evening meal experience either as the staff made hard work of the ordering process and complicated it through having to order some bits from the bar and then waiting to order other bits from the restaurant menu. When i asked the main manager on duty what the food was like and what she recommended in the restaurant i was told i wouldn't know I've never eaten here so how would i know what its like. Great! Not impressed. "

"We stayed at the Hilton York several occasions but this time was different. We haven't been since the refurbishment. The receptionist was very polite. The rooms were immaculate and the food was incredible. In fact next time we go will be eating dinner at the hotel overall five star."

"Lovely room but the bathroom needs updating as the wooden panneling is very damaged. Staff were very nice and friendly, and breakfast was lovely "
