Evening meal and breakfast was really high quality food. Rooms are huge and well maintained. All staff were super friendly. And the whole site in general is really top quality.
Outstanding, we are regularly away for the odd night but this is the absolute best place we have stayed! The room (15) was amazing more like an apartment and was spotlessly clean, prosecvo in room was chilled for our arrival and a special birthday treat - chocs and strawberries was a lovely touch. The grounds are immaculate and the food is delicious. Both dinner and breakfast service was perfect, staff from us checking in to us leaving were lovely. We can't wait to stay again and have told everyone we know!!
The Lodge is of superb quality, massive bedrooms and on suites so nice..Hot tub was asn option but not used.Staff on reception first class..Breakfast was good but spoilt a little by rather surly staff..
Overall a lovely experience and wouldnt hesitate to recommended
I booked this last minute as our other booking cancelled and we needed somewhere to stay for a nearby wedding. Wow this is a gorgeous place. Everything from organising an early check in for us to the lovely breakfast the next day was amazing. Our room was like a suite with a lovely super king bed and the bathroom was also massive. For the price you pay it’s such a good deal and we will be returning and might book the golf or evening meal as add ons.
Really lovely room and hotel grounds. Huge bathroom, very comfy bed. Restaurant evening meal and breakfast were delicious and staff very nice. We enjoyed the stay and was good value for money. The only negative is the very early check out time of 10am - seemed unusual for a hotel stay.
Great place to stay, very quiet and great room. Restaurant food and service was excellent. A little more choice at breakfast would be great, as no continental buffet. But considering the price and what other hotes charge, fantastic. Would return and recommend.
Overnight stay for a wedding we were attending nearby - early check in requested member of staff rang to confirm and gave me contact details for local taxi firms - pleasant and efficient staff on our arrival great stay in courtyard rooms beautifully appointed and comfortable would recommend
Lovely set up. Large bedroom and well kitted out. Half board option very good value. Rafters quite dusty and lights are either on or off - would be nice to have softer lighting. 10am check out a bit early too although breakfast still served until 11am.
Amazing room! We had a great stay at Close House, the room was gorgeous super spacious and bathroom was lovely! We had an evening meal and breakfast included in the price of our room which was fantastic. We only stayed for one night to go to a wedding in the area the following day but wish we had more time to explore the beautiful grounds! Staff were great as well.
Stayed for one night just wanted a peaceful break and had an excellent experience. The grounds were beautiful and very well maintained. We stayed in the chesterfield suite and the room was immaculate and cozy. They provided chocolate and strawberries as we were celebrating a big birthday which was a lovely surprise on arrival. Our evening meal was delicious and very filling and the service was great. Felt very safe and comfortable as well as being very quiet so great to get away to relax. No complaints from our stay and will definitely be returning.
Awesome hotel and absolute value for money. Massive luxury room, wonderful bathroom and lovely breakfast.
This will be my number one choice for this area in the future.
I stay at about 50 hotels every year and have done for decades and this ranks in my top 3 of all time. Absolutely loved it!!!
What a venue!
I'd always heard about Close House as a great location for golf, but never really thought of it as a place to stay.
Its small enough to be personal and intimate. Not a huge venue that can feel overwhelming. Credit to all the staff, polite, welcoming, and always served with a smile.
Set in the grounds of a golf course, the room, part of the Courtyard area, was exceptional. Set on 3 levels, the bedroom was on the top level with wall mounted TV, then a seating area below that and a second TV, and the bathroom below that.
The only negative for us was the heavy quilt, which was too hot, and the soft pillows, offering little support.
Breakfast was excellent. It was ordered from the menu. However, a buffet offering fresh fruit, pastries and cereal would be a useful addition.
We would definitely return here again as a stopover. For anyone on a golfing holiday, it's perfect.
Stayed in a cortyard rooom and for the price was well worth it . Beautiful room with large lounge area and huge bathroom, with roll top bath . The room was beautifully decorated and was pristine . Breakfast was included in the piece and was of high standard . Grounds are imaculafe . Staff were very helpful and friendly , made you feel very welcome .Coupdnt fault it at all . Hidden gem , will definitely return . Excellent work
Stayed 1 night in The Lodge at Close House. Beautifully decorated and huge bedrooms and bathrooms. Only complaint was the fire didnt work with the femote or manually. Disappointing as would have made longe area cosy and warm. Hot Tub was ok but a bit of a hassle opening and closing due to the supporting arm being broken.
Absolutely loved it. Room was huge, very comfortable, amazing bathroom, fridge was a +
Staff very friendly, cannot wait to go back
Only minus was there wasnt enough pillows for the big comfy bed. Had a great sleep. Breakfast was very good
