This is a great hotel. The rooms are wonderful and unique. The bar area is incredible and the pool with their outdoor area is the nicest in New Orleans.
The scenery here is absolutely amazing, and the atmosphere is fantastic! I had such a great time and will definitely be back. The staff was outstanding as well.
Such a lovely hotel, small and quiet. Everything was very well maintained and the staff were so nice. The pool and surrounding landscaping was beautiful and a great place to swim and relax. Would definitely stay again!
Can’t say enough good things about this property!! Beautifully decorated, attentive and friendly staff, comfortable beds and spacious rooms with plenty of bathroom space. And the AC is freezing! Only downside was the pool seating—they offer day passes and the chairs go very quickly.
Air conditioning effective. The whole facility was immaculate. Staff was friendly and helpful. The drinks at the bar were amazing. Guest get free drip coffee which was not bad. The beds and pillows were so comfortable. My husband wanted to take them home.
Lovely property in a quiet part of town. Short walk to the trolley. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. The room was clean and charming. Definitely recommended. Would book my New Orleans stay here again.
New Orleans welcomed us once again with its warmth and hospitality. My daughter and I stayed at the Blackbird Hotel from June 22–26 and had a wonderful stay.
Cleanliness: 10/10
Front Desk: 10/10 – Taylor and the entire staff were friendly, professional, and welcoming. The Blackbird is a beautifully decorated boutique hotel with just 13 rooms, two bars, a café, and a small pool, creating a charming and intimate atmosphere.
The only downside was being awakened by loud drilling outside our room at 7:56 a.m. on June 25. The manager apologized and addressed the issue promptly. While I understand that maintenance is necessary, scheduling noisy work after 10:00 a.m. would be more considerate of guests.
The hotel is best suited for adults, couples, and solo travelers rather than families with young children. Overall, we had a great experience, and I would definitely stay at the Blackbird again.
Friendly helpful staff, loved the property and personal touches (the chocolate and the note in the room). Rooms definitely need a little tlc, chipped paint, cracked blinds, just showing some wear. Room could use a fridge/microwave/coffee pot. Overall the property was decorated beautifully and it was a short walk to public transport or easy uber pickup. Would definitely stay again.
The hotel was quintessentially New Orleans in its architectural style. The room was beautiful and clean. The common areas, including the bar, were comfortable, classic, and funky.
The rooms could benefit from having a safe and a coffee/tea kettle or offering these essential morning beverages in the hotel lobby.
Blackbird was a stunning hotel with friendly staff and a really chilled feel. We absolutely loved exploring New Orleans, but made it even better to be able to come back and relax in a beautiful pool area for a reset. The free street parking was also a big perk.
Fantastic, intimate hotel experience. Surprisingly quiet for where it was located, and the staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Did not use the pool due to travel time constraints, but had a drink at the bar and enjoyed the ambience.

It was an ok experience. The staff were nice. Since the weather was cold during my stay, the portable AC units were not working well in two rooms I stayed, unfortunately. I wish there was a kettle for boiling hot water.
I had an excellent stay at the Blackbird. Everything from the rooms, to the cocktails, to the pool were absolutely stunning. Super friendly and helpful staff. Food was great! Absolutely nothing but positive vibes!
This property was exactly what we were looking for! It was just as advertised and more! Very clean, very intimate, well kept and the people were amazing. From the staff escorting us to our room for the vist viewing, to the local recommendations for activities and dining. Very low key for a relaxing adult trip, which was perfect for us.
We had a wonderful stay. Keep in mind, it is NOLA and an old building, so the room is small, but very well done. Also, the pool is amazing. People are able to buy a day pass to the pool, so it was very busy one day (4th of July). Having the bar by the pool was great.

Staff and design stood out. However there could have been more staff on any given shift. Those who were on went above and beyond. Some three star boutique amenities were notably absent. Suite does not include a desk or sitting area so if working while traveling call ahead. Overall a great location, beautiful space with skilled people.
This place was wonderful. It’s new and stylish. Great location. The heated pool , courtyard, and foliage was beautiful and relaxing. Great staff. Comfortable beds and rooms. We loved it and will be returning!
The hotel was absolutely beautiful. So full of character. Dark, sultry, unique. The staff was amazing, super friendly and ready to help. Drinks were delicious. We were walking distance to lots of restaurants if you want to venture off. Uber was always 2 min away. Short drive to/from the airport. We will be back!
Very unique aesthetic even for New Orleans. This place feels special. It’s conveniently located away from the French quarter but close enough to anything you’d like to get to. Street parking only which wasn’t an issue during my stay - surrounding area is residential so I wouldn’t expect this to change much. The service is what stood out most to me. Everyone went out of their way to ensure guests felt welcome and accommodated. I’d highly recommend this spot for couples or anyone looking for a unique stay outside the crowded quarter.
Words will never adequately express the level of excellence achieved by this NOLA oasis. My positive experience began days before my arrival. I received a call to confirm my reservation and Jenny inquired which room might be more to my liking. What a concept! I loved it. Upon arrival, I discovered that not only had they upgraded me, but my room was also ready early. What a wonderful surprise! The Welcome chocolates, the welcome drink, the attentive staff, the pool oasis, and the overall vibe of the hotel make it my new personal favorite hotel in the country. I will definitely be back!
The Blackbird Hotel was perfectly located — we could walk pretty much everywhere we wanted to go, from Magazine Street to great restaurants on Prytania, Central City history spots, Lagniappe Bakehouse, and more. Street parking was also surprisingly easy!
The hotel itself is very clean and modern with a touch of historic charm. The pool area is beautiful, and both bars (inside and outside) were great with standard pricing for the area. They also offer a weekday happy hour from 4–6, which is a nice perk. The only thing that felt overpriced was the coffee shop — $7 for a cup of tea is steep. Service was friendly and efficient from check-in to anything we needed throughout our stay. Our room was chic, spotless, and the bed was super comfortable.
My only downside was the value for the price. The hotel is boutique-sized and while it definitely has a great vibe, two nights at $860 felt pretty overpriced. Based on other stays, I’d expect this to be more in the $230–$260/night range. At that price point I’d 100% recommend it without hesitation; at the higher rate, I’m not sure it felt worth it, especially since there are other similarly stylish, walkable options nearby at a lower cost.
That said, we still had an excellent stay and I’d rate the experience itself a solid 5/5!
This property is a top tier property — from the moment I parked, literally Mia assisted me from my car to my room and carried my bag for me. Any need or request I had was immediately met. The atmosphere is on another level. I’m a person who books a hotel based on how it looks. The pictures of this place won me over but have nothing on the beauty and design in person. It is stunning— the pool area, the room itself, the lobby, all of it was so gorgeous. The staff was superb as well. I can’t say enough! 10 out of 5 stars!!
