Hotel Hecht
10/10 Excellent
"Charming independent hotel. Pet-friendly and (for humans!) a tasty breakfast buffet is included. Our room was small but we had booked the cheaper option and it was only for one night, so it was perfect for us. Parking is free on-site. (Not to be assumed in Europe!) This does not pretend to be a luxury hotel. But it’s clean and tidy and excellent value for money."

"This is a nice hotel in a lovely location. I have only rated the staff three as as it’s a self check in hotel, we never saw any staff so cant really comment. I sent a message after we left that was not responded to. We were in an apartment which was great. Good kitchen equipment supplied the only issue is that the bar stools are far too low to sit at the breakfast bar. The room is compact which is fine but really could do with hooks or more creative storage solutions which would make a really big difference to the room. Advise keeping the windows closed due to flies. One window had a large fly screen on which helped."

"The automated 24 hr check in is a nice idea but seems not to work well in practice. We checked in after midnight so it didn’t recognise our booking as it thought we were booking too early for a booking the following day. You’d think a check in system could differentiate, but no. And the guy on the phone was super grumpy at 1am too which is a bit much when it’s their fault. There were people we saw the other day who told us the system didn’t recognise their booking number. So it wasn’t just us with issues. The hotel itself is lovely and great value. "
