"Absolutely wonderful inn to stay at (Ryokan), and our favorite stay of a two week Japan trip. It felt like an authentic Japanese experience, while still being very accessible to foreigners like us. The owners are very friendly and attentive right from when you arrive. The rooms are a traditional style with tatami floors. The rooms look out over a small creek so it is very peaceful. "Super location and quiet room with real Japanese style bed on floor. Practical for trips into town or further since bus stops are right beside the building. Locally within walking distance there are ramen restaurants also temples and the Philosophers path. Suited me perfectly as I don't spend much time in hotel I like to be out taking photos. If I visit Kyoto again I would love to stay here again."

"Great place to stay. Friendly and helpful staff. They checked me in and out expeditiously and held my luggage after I checked out abd did some last minute meandering. Near dotonbori and walking distance to train lines and plenty of good eating spots. Breakfast buffet has lots of options. They even have a smoking room in the lobby so you dont have to leave the hotel property to try and find a legal place to smoke."
