"Fab stay in Amsterdam! If you are travelling to Amsterdam and want a hotel in the centre with easy access to the train station then choose this hotel. Rooms are small but clean. Staff are so lovely and helpful. Brilliant location. Helpful shop near the entrance for any essentials. Only thing I would say, we would have appreciated a little fridge in the room with it being 30+ degrees to keep drinks cool and for there to have been a little more storage (wardrobe space) with three of us being in one room. Overall, a great stay and will be back! Thank you"

"We stayed in one of the 2 story rooms - thank you Victoria for the upgrade!!! - it was AMAZING! This is the second time we’ve stayed here and the property has the best location from the train station and is once of the nicest you will find so a really located. Loved it!!"

"Hotel was excellent. Location however is quite inconvenient. It's quite a walk to the nearest station and takes a while to get anywhere. No problem at all if you have a car or don't mind taking an Uber but public transport links are not well connected to it."

"The location worked for me: a lot of the art and visitor attractions are nearby and within walking distance. It's a short walk to the evening life of De Wallen (the red light district) or to Rembrandt Square and places to eat; a longer walk to the Rembrandt House or the Rijksmuseum and Van Gogh Museum. Walking in Amsterdam seems to be quicker than driving. My bedroom was (or seemed to be) a quirky, modernized loft: clean, angular, modern in an anodyne and uncharacterful way. The bed was comfortable. Closet/wardrobe storage was somewhat limited. The way in which the light switches, particularly the master switch, was odd. The bathroom was functional. I prefer showers, so for me it was fine that there was no bathtub but there was a good size shower. I was never able to work out the air-conditioning controls. Most of the time the bedroom was too cold. But as the summer temperature was so hot outside it was good to have such effective air-conditioning. Amsterdam prices are high. Relative to US hotel prices, I felt the rate per night was expensive for what the room was, but perhaps European visitors would feel differently."

DoubleTree by Hilton Amsterdam Centraal Station

"The best part of the Doubletree is probably it's location. It's next to Amsterdam Centraal and really close to the Centrum area as well as to transit for exploring the city but still far enough away that its relatively quiet and not too noisy. Theres also an Albert Heijn just three doors down from the main entrance where you can go to grab good but cheap baked goods and pastries and decent sandwiches for budget breakfast and snacks if you want to save some money. The hotel is modern and clean, and the suite was a good size for a family for four, having and separate bedroom was good for privacy although the suites are all corner units and the main room is sharply triangular in shape which makes it harder to use all the space fully. Service was also good with the staff being responsible to requests. They did only give us three sets of towels for four people but extra towels and pillows were delivered directly to our room quickly upon request. We did have an issue during our stay where none of the TV channels worked on either of the two TV's in our room. This was reported to reception who noted it was an external IT issue that was being resolved but the TV's never worked during the four nights we stayed there and it was never rectified, that was the only real blemish during our stay."
