Way out in the official middle of nowhere, straddling the Colorado/Utah border is the National Monument of Hovenweep. It is located just north of meeting place of the Four States. Driving in from Colorado on a clear day gives distant views of Monument Valley to the west, Shiprock to the south, the the La Sal mountains, Sleeping Ute Mountain and the La Plata Mountains.
