"We had a wonderful stay in Shanklin. The room was very clean and comfortable, and the staff were friendly and welcoming throughout our stay. The beach view was beautiful and relaxing, especially in the evening. We also loved how close the hotel was to the national park and nature walks. Overall, it was a peaceful and enjoyable trip and we would definitely stay here again."

"This hotel is well situated and the reception and bar areas are top class. The staff also are not to be faulted, providing a warm welcome and nothing too much trouble. The bedroom and decor however, leave much to be improved upon. Poor paint finishing, a wash basin in the main bedroom area separate from the shower and toilet, a dreadfully weak shower and a strange pump noise going on throughout the day/night intermittently. All easily remedied which would make this welcoming hotel one of the best in Shanklin I reckon."

"We had no view of the beach, our stay was mostly pleasant but the noise at night was distracting. Loud doors slamming and dogs barking due to the loud sudden noises of how heavy the doors close."

"Great views from the bedroom towards the sea (apart from the infamous Shanklin lift shaft). Sun rise while lying in bed was fantastic to see. Staff were great and the food was good. Although some areas were a little worn and could do with a bit of TLC, it was very clean and tidy."

"A bit of a hill to walk into Shanklin but it can be done in 10 - 15 minutes. Parking was tight but proved not to be a porblem."

"We had an excellent stay at St Maur. The rooms are large spotlessly clean with fantastic ensuite facilties and a balcony with outstanding views. Parking is avaliable and hotel ideally situated for walking to the Botanic Gardens and Steephill Cove. The Owner and staff are amazing. Nothing is too much trouble. Such a friendly homely atmosphere."
