Mojave Desert hotel rooms a the Independent

"The stay was overrated. My bed was hard and the entire building smells like cigarettes although I had a nonsmoking room. The restaurants, pool, and other amenities were just fine. I was just under the impression it may have been more modern but it’s not."

"room did not have working usb chargers. toilet making gurgling noises. called the desk and maintenance arrived saying they would bring new usb chargers but never did. keys didn’t work upon arrival. "

"The property is beautiful but the service falls short every time. We checked in and our room was not available. Instead of upgraing us into a better room they gave us a samller room. The person at the front desk offered a credit that was never applied to the final bill. The next day I aproached the front desk to request a room change and the person in charge sent me to do a 45 min line to get served. I explained the situation and the guy just ignored me and said "it is what it is". Upper management needs to train their staff to match at least the service I get in a Mcdonalds. We all left this place with a bad taste in our mouths. I have emailed the front desk manager CALEB BUICK and still haven't received a reponse or my final bill. Horrible customer service. "
